Cheney and <br />carried, the notifications of the State Board of Equal- <br />ization of alcoholic beverage applications made by <br />Joseph P. Brophy, E.L.Roehm and W.G.Cunningham, dba <br /> <br />E1 Toro Cafe, 220 E. <br />dba Valencia Market, <br />filed. <br /> <br />4th St., <br />1820 W. <br /> <br />and Vincent M. Ballester, <br />1st St., were received and <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the application of R.W.Cole to drive a bus <br /> and applicat~ons of Paul Albert Wagner, Irvin B. King <br /> and Elvin B. King to drive taxicabs, were received, <br /> filed and permits granted. <br /> <br /> Communication from the Chamber of Commerce recommending <br /> that the City Council provide Metropolitan Water at <br /> once for the use of Santa Ana water users and that a <br /> questionnaire be attached to all water bills to determi <br /> the approval or disapproval of the use of Metropolitan <br /> Water by all water users, was read and on motion of <br /> Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br /> communication was received and filed. <br /> <br /> ,, <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Haa~n, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the Water Supt., was instructed to conduct a <br /> poll of the Santa Ana Water users to determine the <br /> approval or disapproval of the use of Metropolitan <br /> water. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, communication 'from John L. Luxembourger, Chief <br /> of Fire Dept. stating that Robert J. Cone has applied <br /> for a leave of absence effective December 19th, 1943, <br /> for the duration, to enter the armed forces, and that <br /> Paul M. DesCamps was appointed to fill the vacancy <br /> created by resignation of Mr. Cone, was received and <br /> filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the bond of Delbert L, Larsh, City Judge, in <br />the amount of $5,000.00, written by the Hartford <br />Accident and Indemnity Co, was approved. <br /> <br />A lease was entered into between the City of Santa Ana <br />and Irvin F. Fickas, on approximately thirteen (13) <br />acres of land located south of Delhi Road and East of <br />Main Street, for the purpose of farming, for the period <br /> <br /> <br />
