In Re Communications Recreational Programs No written or oral protests were received, on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the reco~nendatio~ of the Planning Commission was concurred in and the City Attorney instructed to draw proper ordinance amending Eoning Ordinance No. 1074, and that Sheets Nos. 4 and 40 of the Districting Map of the City of Santa Ana be amended to reclassify as R-3, (for convenience called Multiple Family), property located on East Chestnut between Cypress and ~aple Streets. The resignation of Martha E. Starkey, Secretary Civiliar Defense, effective May 1st, 1944, was read, and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the resignation was accepted with regrets and. cor~uunicatiou referred to Auditor to check the length of time employed and vacation allowance and to act accordingly. An affidavit of posting Notices to Destroy Weeds havirg been file~ by H.M.Neighbour, Street Superintendent, and no protests received, on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "A Resolution Ordering the Street Superintendent to Abate the Public Nuisance Heretofore Declared by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, to-wit: Weeds which Bear Seeds of a Wingy or Downy Nature and Attain Such a Large Growth as to Become a Fire Menace When Dry and Which are Noxious and Dangerous, Growing Upon Certain Streets, Sidewalks and Private Property in the City of Santa Ana, by Having the Weeds Referred to Removed" was introduced, re~d, considered, designated Resolution No. 3335 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, T~'ustees Absent ,Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. E~gene Dixon, W.J.Cheney, Asa Hoffman. None Otto R. Haan On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, agreement between the City of Santa Ana and the Pacific Electric Railway Co., relative abandonment of railroad from 4th St. Santa Aha to the City of Orange and abandonment of all electrical overhead from 4th St. Santa Aha to connection with Southern Pacific R.~. at Marlboro, and removal of switches and curves of abandore railroad within the limits of 4th St. and repaving of street in manner satisfactory to the City, was referred to the City Attorney to report back at next meeting.
