M. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the notification of the State Board of Equal- <br /> ization of alcoholic beverage application made by Harry <br /> Jacobs and Faye Factor, dba Trade Winds Cafe, 212 East <br /> 4th St., was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon snd <br /> carried, the spplications of Herman C. Collins and Roy <br /> E. Ellis, to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co., <br /> were received and permits granted. <br /> <br /> , <br /> <br /> On motion on Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and <br /> carried, the applications of the Powell Neon Sign Co. to <br /> hang a neon sign for Earl Vinson Automotive Parts, llB <br /> French St., and for Paul Dyer, 301~ No. Main St., were <br /> granted and signs ordered huug under the supervision of <br /> the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Alan Revill, representing the Assistance League, <br /> appeared before the Co~mcil stating that a Fair for <br /> charity purposes is to be held on the Court House grounds <br /> and requesting that permisslon be granted to hold a <br /> street dance on West 6th St. between Sycamore and Broadway, <br /> after 9 P.~. on June 24th, 1944. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, the request of the Assistance League to hold such <br /> street dance, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the report of the Police Department, for the <br />month of March, 1944, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign <br />renewal of lease No. W-509 Eng.-1529 on the Military <br />Reservation, Air Corps Replacement Center, United States <br />Army Air Corps. <br /> <br /> <br />
