460 City Co~tucil met !n regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoff~an. Present: Trustees Absents Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, W.J.Cheney, Asa Hoffman. Otto R. Haan The Clerk comnenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the ~nutes ?f ~p~ll ~rd, further reading of the Minutes was lspensea w!~n ana approved on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the notification of the State Board of Equal- ization of alcoholic beverage application made by Harry Jacobs and Faye Factor, dba Trade Winds Cafe, 212 East 4th St., was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon snd carried, the spplications of Herman C. Collins and Roy E. Ellis, to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co., were received and permits granted. , On motion on Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the applications of the Powell Neon Sign Co. to hang a neon sign for Earl Vinson Automotive Parts, llB French St., and for Paul Dyer, 301~ No. Main St., were granted and signs ordered huug under the supervision of the Electrical Inspector. Mrs. Alan Revill, representing the Assistance League, appeared before the Co~mcil stating that a Fair for charity purposes is to be held on the Court House grounds and requesting that permisslon be granted to hold a street dance on West 6th St. between Sycamore and Broadway, after 9 P.~. on June 24th, 1944. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the request of the Assistance League to hold such street dance, was granted. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the report of the Police Department, for the month of March, 1944, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign renewal of lease No. W-509 Eng.-1529 on the Military Reservation, Air Corps Replacement Center, United States Army Air Corps.
