No. S6S? <br />Accepting Deed <br />Willard Lake et al <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request <br />of Resident Manager, Casa de Santa Ana for increase in salaries <br />of two maintenance men, such increases to be retroactive as of <br />Jan. 1, 1948, was referred to Auditor Martien and Trustee Chandlex <br />for study and recommendation. . <br /> <br />On recommendation of tb~ City Engineer and on motion of Trustee <br />Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, Clerk was authorized to <br />advertise for bids covering the furnishing of 5,000 ft. of 12 inck <br />5,000 ft. of 8 inch, and 15,000 ft. of six inch, all to be cement <br />lined, bell and spigot, east iron pipe, class 1~0; bids to be <br />opened February 16th,.1948. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of aleo~olic <br />beverage application made by Arthur O. Straub, 110 Santa Fe, was <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />application of George L. NeXaon to drive taxicabs wa~ g~anted and <br />Clerk authorized to issue license. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by nine property owners in the 1500 <br />block North Ross requesting that bottle trees on this street be <br />replaced with plumosa palms and on motion of Trustee Chandler, <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, petition was referred to Forestry <br />Board for recommendation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />applica~e~of Oram H. St-~a~ser, T.C.Strauser, J. Jammell, dba <br />Devon MoroCCo., at 1219 Soj Main St., was granted and Clerk <br />authorized t%, issue license and deposit application fee of <br />$200.00. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the monthly reports of Building Department, Judge's Office and <br />Juvenile Bureau, for the month of January, 1948, were received <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />monthly demands as audited by the Finance Committee were approved <br />and Clerk authorized to draw warrants covering demands numbering <br />24S4 to 2?55 inclusive. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />communication and Resolution No. 182 of the Planning Commission, <br />granting variance to permit one two-family dwelling on each of <br />L~ts:8,9,10,11 of Tract No. 1152, being the northwest corner of <br />6th and Bristol Sts, in accordance with Planning Commission <br />initiated variance, were approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />communication of the Planning Commission granting variance to <br />permit the establishment of an automobile parking lot on Lot 4, <br />Block 11, South Side Addition, located at 905 So. Sycamore St., <br />in accordance with application of John C. Phillips Realty Co., <br />w~s approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />communication of the Planning Commission granting variance to <br />~permit the establishment of an apartment over a double garage in <br />the rear of an existing residence at 1002 W. Chestnut St., in <br />accordance with application of Gerald M. and Mary E. B~akeley, <br />was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />communication of the Planning Commission granting variance to. <br />permit the establishment and operation of a department store, or <br />portion thereof, and a parking lot for customer parking on the <br />High School Tract bounded by 9th St. 10th St., Main and Bush Sts., <br />in accordance with application of Buffum's, was approve~. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitledx <br /> #Resolution Accepting Deed Granting Easement for <br /> Sewer Purposes~ <br />from Willard Lake, Jr. and Sylvia L. Lake, husband and wife, Ed <br />Randall and Hazel Randall, husband and wife, and Roy Russell and <br />Maurine Russell, husband and wife, an easement for sewer line, <br />said easement being described in deed as follows: <br />A right of.way for the construction, maintenance and replacement <br />of a sewer llne and necessary manholes over a strip of land 10..00 <br />feet in width, being the south 10.00 feet of the following <br />described property~ Beginning at the intersection of the center <br />line of English Street with the centerline of Washington Ave.,; <br />running west along the extended centerline of said Washington Ave. <br />722.00 feet; thence south 15.00 feet; thence east ?22.00 feet <br />parallel to said extended center line; thence north 15.00 feet to <br />the point of beginning, was read, considered, designated Resolutio <br />No. S5~? and passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes, Trustees W.J.
