<br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />the following Ordinance entitled:
<br /> "Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1074"
<br />to reclassify property described as Lots 10, ll, and 12 in Block
<br />"A" of Bartlett's Addition from R-2 to C-2 District, in accord-
<br />ance with application of ~abina Solis, was read, considered,
<br />designated Ordinance No. 1217 and passed by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />"An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ara establishing
<br /> a set-back line upon a portion of Grand Avenue
<br /> between the center line of First Street and a
<br /> point 168 feet, more or less, north of Fourth
<br /> Street"
<br /> was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second
<br /> reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />"An Ordinance of the Cit~y of Santa Ara Amending
<br /> Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1086 and Creating a
<br /> Civil Service Board Consisting of Five Members"
<br /> was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second
<br /> reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />application of George A. Easton and Kenneth F. Mooney, to conduct
<br />the business of dealing in motor vehicles at 1420-142A South
<br />Main St., was granted and Clerk authorized to issue license and
<br />deposit application fee of $200.00.
<br />
<br />Copy of communication addressed to Civil Service Board was read
<br />from John Luxembourger, Chief of Fire Department, indicating hie
<br />desire to accept voluntary retirement effective January 6th, 1948~
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />leawe was granted until retirement pay begins if retirement pay
<br />begins before March let. In no event shall leave be granted
<br />beyond March 1st and shall commence on January 6th, 19~8, same to
<br />be granted without pay.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Mandy~
<br />seconded by Cheney and carried, purchase was approved of one 8 to
<br />8 ton Gallon Variable Weight Tandem Road Roller, at price of
<br />$A,169.80, from Brown-Bevis Equipment Co., and Clerk authorized
<br />to return checks of unsuccessful bidders.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, Phil
<br />Brown was reappointed as a member of the Civil Service Board and
<br />term to be established when new Civil Service Ordinance is
<br />adopted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />Harry L. Hanson was appointed as a member of the Bowers Memorial
<br />Museum Board to fill vacancy created by death of Herbert P.
<br />Rankin; term to expire March 19th, 1980.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by MafidY and carried, the
<br />City Council adjourned.
