J. Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, <br /> Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each memOer of t~e City Council having received copies <br />of the Minutes or January 19th, 1949, further reading <br />of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion <br />of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried. <br /> <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />Leave of Absence <br />R. M. Crookshank request of R. M. Crookshank, City Judge, to leave the State of <br /> <br />California from January 3ist to February 1st, 1949, inclusive, <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication <br />Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />was officially granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />the communication of the Chamber of Commerce was received and <br /> <br />filed, cormnending the Council and Chief of Police with reference <br /> <br />to enforcement of the Parking Meter Ordinance, urging off-street <br /> <br />In Re <br />City Nursery <br /> <br />parking and a survey of loading <br />. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> <br />zones. <br /> <br />seconded by Chenoy and carried, <br /> <br />communication of Park Superintendent was received and filed with <br /> <br />reference to action of Forestry Board that the nine acres of city <br /> <br />owned property located south of Delhi Road would be suitable <br /> <br />In Re <br />Meeting of <br />Park Administrators <br /> <br />for a city nursery. <br /> <br />The invitation of Dale Griggs, Park Supt., <br /> <br />to attend a meeting <br /> <br />on March 4th of the Park Administrators of South California at <br /> <br />the Community Clubhouse, was received and filed on motion of <br /> <br />In Re <br />Advertise for <br />Steel Poles. <br /> <br />Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for six steel <br /> <br />poles to be used for the lighting of ball field in the S.A. Mem- <br /> <br />In He <br />Advertise for <br />Storage Batteries <br /> <br />orial Park; bids to be opened February 21st, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed snd carried, the <br /> on <br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids/142 single cell lead <br /> <br />storage batteries for the Fire Department; bids to be opened <br /> <br />In Re <br />Contracts with <br />Sully-Miller Co. <br /> <br />February 21st, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, <br /> <br />seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> <br />the bonds of Sully-Miller Contracting Company for the improve- <br /> <br />ments of East Fourth, Grand and North Bristol Streets, were <br /> <br />ordered ~eleased in accordanoewith communications of the City <br /> <br />Engineer stating that work had been completed. <br /> <br /> <br />
