<br />A protest was read signed by Robert E. Brown reference noise of
<br />ice-cream vendors and sound trucks. On motion of Trustee Reed,
<br />seconded by Chandler and carried, Chairman was authorized to appoin
<br />a committee to investigate and report back. Chairman appointed
<br />Trustee Mandy, Chief of Police and City Attorney, as committee.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic
<br />beverage application mad~ by H.~ L. Distributing Co. 836 Logan St.
<br />
<br />was received and filed.

<br />Communications were read from City Clerk and Treasurer recommendir
<br />that penalty due date be changed to first day of following month
<br />at which time a penaltY would be added equal to the amount of
<br />license fee. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and
<br />carried, City Attorney was instructed to comply with recommendation
<br />of Clerk and Treasurer and prepare an Ordinance amending due date
<br />of penalty on licenses.

<br />Communications were read from Traffic Safety Commission and Harry
<br />O. Crowe reference to hazardous manner in ~uich trucks park in
<br />loading zones. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney
<br />and carried, matter was referred to the Chief of Police with power
<br />to act and to check On violations mentioned.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />request of Erma Keeler, City Clerk, for permission to leave the
<br />state begir~ning Sept. 14th to October 16th, 19~9, inclusive, was
<br />~ranted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />communication from Pablo Castillo, Secy. Beneficencia Mexicana,
<br />expressing thanks for assistance and cooperation in presenting its
<br />Gran Fiesta Tipica in the Municipal Bow~ on July 24th, 1949, was
<br />received and filed.

<br />A petition was read signed by seventeen property owners in the l?00
<br />1800, 1900 and 2000 blocks on the south side of W. l?th St.,
<br />requesting that adequate street lights be installed. On motion
<br />of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request was
<br />
<br />referred to Trustee Cheney and City Engineer, with power to act.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />following Ordinance entitled:

<br />reading.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />following Ordinance entitled:

<br />
<br />to reclassify certain property, being property located on the south
<br />side of E. 1st St., between McClay and Lyon Streets, from the R-2
<br />District to the C-2 District, in accordance with application of
<br />R.A. Turner, was introduced, read, considered and placed on file
<br />
