Utt to permit bottling, storage <br /> and delivery of carbonated drinks on premises 100' x 400' at the <br /> southwest corner of Edinger and Flower Streets, under certain <br /> conditions, was approved and variance granted. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Myrtle Edwards Bachman requesting <br />opportunity to appear before the Council. Mrs. Bachman stated <br />she was required to pay a City license to operate a public address <br />system to announce gospel meetings and requested that Ordinance be <br />investigated and payment of such license be waived. On motion <br />of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, communication <br />was received, filed and Chairman authorized to appoint a committee <br />to examine the Ordinance. Chairman appointed Trustee Martin, <br /> <br />Chief of Police and City Attorney, as committee. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />communication from The American Municipal Association advising <br />that annual meeting will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, on NOvember <br /> <br />30th to December 2nd, 19~9, was received and filed. <br />,, <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Building Inspector and on motion of <br />Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, R.E.Finfrock was <br />granted permission to attend convention of the Southwestern <br />Section International Association of Electrical Inspectors at <br /> <br /> San Diego, October 10, ll and 12, with expenses paid. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Building Inspector and on motion of <br />Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, Edward Horrocks <br />was granted permission to attend convention of the Western <br />Plumbing Officials Association at Santa Barbara, on October 13, <br />14, and 15, with expenses Paid. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, <br />communication from Metropolitan ~¥ater District, together with <br />tabulation of assessed valuation of the taxable property within <br />the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, for the <br />fiscal year 1949-1950, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />application of Delphts G. Roy for permission to conduct a pool <br />hall at 403 West Fourth Street, was referred to committee of <br />Trustee Martin and Chief of Police to investigate and report back <br />at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />City of Santa Ana shall join with the other members of the Joint <br />Outfall Sewer Agreement in offering to sell the Joint Outfall <br />Sewer facilities to the County Sanitation Districts at the price <br />stated in the Engineer's Report if all other members of the Joint <br /> <br />Out fall Sewer Agreement concur. <br /> Roll Call Ayes, Trustees <br /> <br />W.J.Cheney, Courtney R.Chandler, <br />John W.
