<br />enforcement to the Police Department.

<br />The recommendation of the Planning Commission was read and on
<br />motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />City Attorney was instructed to prepare Ordinance covering the
<br />~,roposed abandonment of a portion of Brown Street.
<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee
<br />
<br />Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, request of Our Lady of
<br />Guadalupe Church, on behalf of Our Lady's Crusaders Youth Club,
<br />for permission to conduct a public dance Sept. 2~th, was granted.
<br />On motion of Trustee ~artin, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />City Auditor was instructed to place parking meter officers in
<br />other City Departments, if possible, until Ordinance abolishing
<br />such position, is adopted.
<br />
<br />The City Engineer stated that the State Highway Department
<br />advised they will make a study of the request of Sears-Roebuck
<br />
<br />~ Co., for the installation of traffic signals at Main and
<br />Berkeley Streets, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by
<br />
<br />Cheney and carried, request was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />City Attorney was instructed to revise Ordinance repealing
<br />Ordinance No. 896, reference set-back line on each side of
<br />Washington Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue.

<br />of President, Santa Ana City Employees' Association that City
<br />Council execute necessary papers so that Santa Ana contract with
<br />
