No. 1 In Re Extension of time Milosevich ~ Zarubica In Re Beverage Applications On motion of Trustee Chandler, ~seconded by Cheney and carried, recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be granted to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, 1714 W. 6th St., to permit au extension to the northerly side of an existing building used as a home for the aged at 1714 w. 6th St., under certain conditions, was upheld and variance granted. Communication was read from Mrs. George Hirsch reference dogs running at large and damaging property in the 1500 block North Baker St., and on motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, matter was referred to the Poundmaster to investigate report back at the next meeting. ,, Communication was read from Mrs. We~ton Walker extending an of the Civic Beautification Committee invitation to the Council to attend second quarterly meeting/at the Council Chambers on October 2~th, 19l~9, at ?:30 P.M., and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, con~nunication was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, of John W. Martin, Jr. for leave of absence for one week, be October 20th, 1949, was granted. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, request of John K. Colwell for leave of absence effective Oct. 17th to November lsd, 1949, was granted. Request was read from Chief of Police for permission to hire an additional Clerk-Typist and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, request was referred to Police to make a thorough investigation and report back at the next meeting. Request was read from City Enginee~ for permission to hire six temporary laborers for a period of ten days to two weeks, to cut the burned brush in the Creek channel between Santa Ana Boulevard and Flower Street, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, request was granted. ,, On motien of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Mandy and carried, Courtney R. Chandler was appointed as a representative of the City to serve as a member of the Executive Board of the Orange County League of Cities. On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Chandler and carried, Trustees Allen A. Mandy and Virgil H. Reed were reappointed as representatiMes of the City of Santa Ana to serve on Sanitation ~istrict No. 1. On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustea Cheney, seconded by Nartinand carried, an extension of thirty day~ was granted Milosevich & Zarubica Const. Co. to complete extensim of storm drain on Delhi Road between Main and Rousselle Streets. On motion of Trustee Reed, ~econded by Chandler and carried, notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage applications made by H.R.Brinkerhoff Co. 211-15 E. 3rd St. for beer and wine wholesalers and importers, Kong H. Quong,
