Martin, Jr. for leave of absence for one week, be <br /> October 20th, 1949, was granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> request of John K. Colwell for leave of absence effective Oct. <br /> 17th to November lsd, 1949, was granted. <br /> <br />Request was read from Chief of Police for permission to hire an <br />additional Clerk-Typist and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded <br />by Chandler and carried, request was referred to Police <br />to make a thorough investigation and report back at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Request was read from City Enginee~ for permission to hire six <br /> temporary laborers for a period of ten days to two weeks, to cut <br /> the burned brush in the Creek channel between Santa Ana Boulevard <br /> and Flower Street, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by <br /> <br /> Chandler and carried, request was granted. <br /> ,, <br /> <br /> On motien of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Mandy and carried, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler was appointed as a representative of the <br /> City to serve as a member of the Executive Board of the Orange <br /> County League of Cities. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> Trustees Allen A. Mandy and Virgil H. Reed were reappointed as <br /> representatiMes of the City of Santa Ana to serve on Sanitation <br /> ~istrict No. 1. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustea <br /> Cheney, seconded by Nartinand carried, an extension of thirty day~ <br /> was granted Milosevich & Zarubica Const. Co. to complete extensim <br /> of storm drain on Delhi Road between Main and Rousselle Streets. <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, ~econded by Chandler and carried, <br /> notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic <br /> beverage applications made by H.R.Brinkerhoff Co. 211-15 E. 3rd <br /> St. for beer and wine wholesalers and importers, Kong H.
