Smith to operate a beauty parlor at 1OO2 No. Ross St., and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Asst. city Attorney was instructed to prepare Resolution approving variance. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the following Resolution entitled: ~ was read, considered, by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent, Trustees "Resolution to approve Variance requested by Variance Application Number 208" designated Resolution No. 3865 and passed ~V.J.Cheney, John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. Courtney R. Chandler None On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana declaring their intention to vacate a portion of Brown Street, describing said portion proposed to be vacated and fixing time and place for hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacatlon" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. , On motion of Trustee Reod, seconded by Cheney and carried, permission Was granted C.J.Green, 1040 W. 1st St., to conduct an auction sale to dispose of entire stock of antiques and household ~00 ds. On reconLmendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, City Attorney was instructe¢ to prepare Ordinance prohibiting the use of commercial vehicles of over two tons gross weight, except buses and except for local deliveries, on Broadway from 8th to Santa Clara and Clerk to advise Chad M. ttarwood of Council action. ,, On recormmendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare Ordinance repealing clause 3e of Section read 11~ of Ordinance No. 124~; changing the wording to/"that benches are to be placed in locations to serve patrons of the Pacific Electric Railway Company or a company operating buses upon the streets of San~a Ana';. On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, the Clerk was directed to notify the Salvation Army that their request for a loading zone at 214 No. Sycamore St., was denied but that there is an establisl ed loading zone just south of their building, formerly used by the Edison Co., which they may use for their purpose. ,, On motion of Trustee Chaudler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the City Council adjourned. .APPROVED: of y of Santa Mayor of the City of San~a Ana
