City Council met for a special meeting for the Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall October 31st, 1949. purpose of acting on the Zoning Amendment application of Fred and Ruth Forgy to reclassify property at the southeast corner of Edinger and Bristol Street; consider bid on property of the City located at North Main and Santa Ana Boulevard; consider purchase of real property for Fire Station at the northeast corner of Broadway and Edinger Streets and to execute agreement with the Federal Public Housing Authority for the transfer of ownership of Casa de Santa Ana Housing Project. ~eeting called to order by Mayor Mandy. Communication and Resolution No. 382 of the Planning Commission recommending amendment to Zoning Ordinance by reclassifying certai~ property, being a twenty acre parcel of land at the southeast corner of Edinger and Bristol Streets, from the R-1 Residence District to the R-2 Residence District, to permit the erection of a high school, in accordance with application of Fred and Ruth Forgy, were read. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was instructed to publish a notice of hearing in a newspaper of general circulation, ten days prior to the next meeting of the Council on November 15t~, 1949, relative to reclassification of above propBrty. No action w~s taken on sale of property owned by the City located at North Main and Santa Ana Boulevard until property is zoned for business. Communication was read from the Griffith Company offering to sell to the City, under certain conditions, three lots located at the northeast corner of Broadway and Edinger Streets. On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the Purchasing Agent was instructed to negotiate for the purchase of this property, in the amount of $6,000.00. . On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution waiving requirements of Section 313 of Public Law, 76th Congress as Amended" requesting transfer and relinquishment of title from the Federal Government to the housing project located at Eighth and Flower Streets, was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3866 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent, Trustees W.J. Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, John W. Martin, Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy.
