Trustee Reed was <br />appointed to inves~igate matter reference to health angle. On <br />motion of Trustee Chand~4er, seconded byReed and carried, petitioz <br />was received and filed. Michael C. Gordon protested trucks <br />blocking the alley and matter was referred to the Chief of Police <br /> <br />for investigation. Claude Hunter objected to odors, noise and <br /> <br /> refuse. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Tx-ustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, <br />statement of claim of M.P.NcOaff~ey, Inc. for rental of equipment <br />to Stan Laaarevich, contractor, in the amount of $1691.53, was <br /> <br />referred to the-City Attorney. <br /> # <br />On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and oarrie~, proper <br />authorities were authorized to execute bill of Sale of Western Uni <br />Telegraph Co., in the amount of $1.00, dated October 2?th, 1949, <br />wherein the City will obtain five of the former Postal Telegraph <br />Company's poles located along-Terminal Street to accommodate fire <br /> <br /> alarm facilities. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />Resolutions of Ora-ge, Fullerton and Anaheim terminating contract <br />permitting Newport Beach to use the submarine tube extending into <br />the Pacific Ocean were received, filed and Clerk instructed to <br />notify City of Newport Beach of cancellation of Joint Outfall <br /> <br />Sewer contract. <br /># <br />Ne written or oral protests having been received, ~n mstablishing <br />a set-back line on both sides of East Washington Ave. between <br />Lincoln and Grand Avenues, on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded <br />by Chandler and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to <br /> <br />prepare necessary Ordinance. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the following Ordinance entitled~ <br /> <br /> #An 0rdi-~nce establishing set-back lines on <br /> a portion of East Washington Avenue, 30 feet <br /> on each side of the center line of said East <br /> Washington Avenue from the east line of <br /> Lincoln Avenue to the west line of Grand Avenue" <br /> <br />was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second <br />reading. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Oheney and carried, <br />the 01erk was authorized to advertise for bids for 955 ft. 3N, <br />620 ft. 2# and 2255 ft. 1" water pipe; three 50 EVA transformers <br />and labor and equipment required to pull and dispose of from 900 <br />to 1200 orange trees at Prentice Park; bids to be opened Dec. 5th <br /> <br />1949. <br /># <br /> <br />~n <br /> <br /> <br />
