Inspector <br />(dance halls) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Dance <br />Permit <br /> <br />In Re <br />Inspection of <br />buildings where <br />dances are held <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication <br />S,A.Bd.of Realtors <br />(rent de-control) <br /> <br /> ! <br /> <br /> Chandler and carried, Chairmsn appointed Chief of Police and City <br /> Attorney, as a committee, to investigate this matter and report <br /> <br /> back. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> City Engineer was appointed, as a committee of one, to take <br /> immediate action; on loading zone situation on Second Street betwe, <br /> Broadway and Sycamore Streets, and Chief of Police to be included <br /> on committee. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of Traffic Safety Commission and on motion of <br /> Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, Barney Koster was <br /> reappointed,' as a member of the Traffic Safety Commission; term t, <br /> <br /> expire January l, 1955. <br /> # <br /> <br />Communication was read from Captain, California National Guard, <br />requesting pex~nission to drill on Monday nights within the <br />-lmmediate area of the Armory. On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br />seconded by Martin and carried, request was granted to drill on <br />paved area near the Armory on Monday nights, from 7:00 P.M. to <br />10:00 P.M. and such condition to be made a part of original <br /> <br /> agreement between City and California National Guard. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Rainbow Advertising Co. advising they <br /> have fully complied with all provisions of the Ordinance and thei: <br /> contract reference installation~ of benches, and on motion of <br /> Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, communication was <br /> <br /> received and filed. <br /> # <br /> Communication was read from Building Inspector that all public <br /> dance permits be withheld until suitable stairways can be con- <br /> structed in all dance halls above the ground floor. On motion <br /> of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the recommend- <br /> <br /> ation was approved and communication filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion cf Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br /> request of League of United Latin American Citizens for permissiol <br /> to conduct a public dance at the V.F.W. Hall, Dec. 31st, 1949, wa~ <br /> denied and Clerk to notify them that Building Inspector recommend. <br /> that dance permits be withheld until suitable stairways are con- <br /> <br /> structed in buildings where public dances are held. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> BAllding Inspector and Fire Chief were instructed, within a perio, <br /> of five days, to m~ke a survey of all buildings where public <br /> dances are held and notify owners of such buildings of necessary <br /> <br /> improvements to~ be made. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Santa Ana Board of Realtors requestin <br /> Council to set a public hearing date to secure rental de-control <br /> in the City. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler an <br /> carried, communication was referred to City Attorney for study <br /> and recommendation as to proper procedure to follow in regard to <br /> <br /> this matter. <br /> # <br /> <br />d <br /> <br /> <br />
