No. 3V51 Quit-Claim Deed' R/W for sewer pumposes Gertrude M.Burns On motion of TrUstee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute lease between the City of Santa Ana and the Childrens Home Society of California, covering rental of Roome 209 and 210 on the second floor of the Administration Building, W. 8th Street. for a three year period. This being the night set for hearing protests on the establishmen of set-back lines on the North side of W. 1st St. §5 ft. north of the center line of said street and extending from Sullivan St. west to the City limits, and no protests having been received, matter was carried over until next meeting. Messrs. Lombardo, Arnett and White appeared before the Council protesting granting of variance for erection of Latter Day Church at 501 Halliday Street. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, variance was referred back to Planning Commission for further study and clarification. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a varianCe be granted to Santa Ana Community Hospital to permit a parking lot at the southwest corner of Washington Avenue and Poinsettia Street, was approved and the variance granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be · granted to W.B.Lawrence to permit an existing building in the rear of a residence, at 10~9 W. Myrtle St., to be converted into a single-family dwelling, was approved an~variance granted. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be granted to Roger Valencia to permit conversion of a portion of a residence into a beauty parlor, at 1620 W. ~rd St., was approved and variance granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be granted to Milton V. and Vera I. Newcomer to ~ermit the establish. ment of an insurance office in one lower apartmen~ a~ 152V Bush St., was approved and variance granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, th~ following Resolution entitled: WA Resolution of the City Council Delimiting a site for a Civic Center and adopting same as a section of the Master Plan for the location of public buildings" was read, considered, designated Resolution No. ~50 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, R. Carson Smith. Noes, Trustees None Absent, Trustees Virgil H. Reed On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "ReSolution Authorizing Quit-claim Deed"
