No. 3V51 <br />Quit-Claim Deed' <br />R/W for sewer pumposes <br />Gertrude M.Burns <br /> <br /> On motion of TrUstee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute lease between the <br /> City of Santa Ana and the Childrens Home Society of California, <br /> covering rental of Roome 209 and 210 on the second floor of the <br /> Administration Building, W. 8th Street. for a three year period. <br /> This being the night set for hearing protests on the establishmen <br /> of set-back lines on the North side of W. 1st St. §5 ft. north of <br /> the center line of said street and extending from Sullivan St. <br /> west to the City limits, and no protests having been received, <br /> matter was carried over until next meeting. <br /> <br /> Messrs. Lombardo, Arnett and White appeared before the Council <br /> protesting granting of variance for erection of Latter Day Church <br /> at 501 Halliday Street. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded <br /> by Reed and carried, variance was referred back to Planning <br /> Commission for further study and clarification. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a varianCe be <br /> granted to Santa Ana Community Hospital to permit a parking lot <br /> at the southwest corner of Washington Avenue and Poinsettia <br /> Street, was approved and the variance granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be <br /> <br />· granted to W.B.Lawrence to permit an existing building in the <br />rear of a residence, at 10~9 W. Myrtle St., to be converted into <br />a single-family dwelling, was approved an~variance granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be <br />granted to Roger Valencia to permit conversion of a portion of a <br />residence into a beauty parlor, at 1620 W. ~rd St., was approved <br />and variance granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be <br />granted to Milton V. and Vera I. Newcomer to ~ermit the establish. <br />ment of an insurance office in one lower apartmen~ a~ 152V Bush <br />St., was approved and variance granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, th~ <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> WA Resolution of the City Council Delimiting <br /> a site for a Civic Center and adopting same <br /> as a section of the Master Plan for the <br /> location of public buildings" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. ~50 and passed <br /> <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, <br /> Allen A. Mandy, R. Carson Smith. <br />Noes, Trustees None <br />Absent, Trustees Virgil H.
