<br />expense to be paid by G.V.Mason et ux and 0rvin S. Hunt et ux,

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for a six-cylinder
<br />four-door 1949 automobile for use of the Police Department; bids
<br />to be opened March 21st, 1949.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute lease dated January 1st
<br />1949, between City of Santa Aha and Citrus Growers, Inc., for
<br />Mexican National Camp at Delhi.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of ~he committee and on motion of Trustee
<br />Chandler, secosded by Cheney and carried, the bid of the Pacific
<br />Southwest Pipe Co., in the amount of $3,646.00 was accepted cover-
<br />ing the furnishing of steel poles.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />communication from Fire Chief, together with proposed amendment to
<br />Ordinance No. 864, reference "Serve-Yourself" Service Stations,
<br />wac referred to Council for further study.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, Chairman
<br />was authorized to enter into escrow with Orange County Title Co.,
<br />for right-of-way on that portion of Flower Street formerly owned
<br />by the Haven Seed Co., and now owned by James B. Utt.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />was instructed to request the State Highway Commission to remove
<br />the physical barriers on South Main Street between Anahurst Place
<br />and Delhi Road, as recommended by the Traffic Safety Commission
<br />and petition of property owners fronting on South Main Street, and~
<br />to further request the painting of white traffic stripes in place
<br />of the barriers.
