<br />No oral or written protests were received reference to amendment
<br />
<br />to Zoning Ordinance permitting mortuaries in the'C-2, M-l, or
<br />
<br />Districts, with certain restrictions, and on motion of Trustee
<br />
<br />Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the City Attorney was
<br />
<br />instructed to~repare an Ordinance to change the zoning.
<br />
<br />No oral or written protests were received reference to amendment
<br />
<br />to Zoning Ordinance to reclassify certain property, being a five
<br />
<br />acre parcel at the northeast corner of Sullivan and First Sts.,
<br />
<br />from the R-? to the M-1 District, in accordance with application
<br />
<br />of R. Haster, and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed
<br />
<br />and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare two
<br />
<br />separate Ordinances to change the zone and establish set-back
<br />
<br />line on this property.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,

<br />being a strip along the north side of the center-line of 15th St~

<br />was referred to the City Attorney with power to act.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />
<br />plans for the reconstruction of W. 5th St., from Garnsey St. to
<br />
<br />Broadway, were approved.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />
<br />following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br />"Resolution authorizing and directing the
<br />City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
<br />reconstruction of Fifth Street, from
<br />Garnsey Street to Broadway, in the City
<br />of Santa Aha, and fixing the prevailing
<br />wage rate"
<br />

<br />"A Resolutio~ of the City Council of the City of
<br /> Santa Ana determining and declaring that weeds
<br /> which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature and
<br /> attain such a large growth as to become a fire
<br />· menace when dry, and which are n~xious and
<br /> dangerous, are growing upon certain streets,
<br /> sidewalks and private property in said City of
<br /> Santa Ana, and are a public nuisance: Directing
<br /> the Street Superintendent to post notices to
<br /> destroy said weeds as required by law: fixing the
<br /> time for hearing objections and protests, and
<br /> directing the abatement thereof in accordance with
<br /> an act of the Legislature of the State of California
<br /> entitled, "An Act Authorizing Municipalities to
<br /> Declare Noxious or Dangerous Weeds Growing Upon
<br /> the Streets or sidewalks or upon Private Property
<br /> Within Municipalities to be a public Nuisance,
<br /> Creating a Lien upon the property fronting upon
<br /> such streets or sidewalks, or upon which such
<br /> Nuisance exists for the Cost of Abating the Same,
