TRUSTEES None On motion of Trustee Nandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the report of the commltteeon advertising benches was referred to Trustee Cher~ey to study and report at the next meeting. nd carried, On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed;~he Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee to prepare a suitable Ordinance for sale of surplus property of the City. The City Attorney, Auditor and Engineer were appointed as committee. On motion of Trustee Handy, seconded by Chandler it was ordered that the Ordinance be presentad at the next meeting. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,the request was read of the ~exican Welfare Assn. of Orange County for use of I~unicipal Bowl on the afternnon of July ~4th to stage a benefit show presenting band Concert Dy the Our Lady of Talpa Church Band. Due to the fact that this is a religious show was made a motion/by Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,that ~,ermlt for use of bowl be gra~ted without payment of License fee. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of John W. Busch to permit use of an existing garage house at Sl.~ E. Nyrtle St. was granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, secondedT~andy and carried,the request of Harold Johnson,architect, was granted for perm~ssmon to construct the footings unm~r sidewalks for building to be occupied by the ~Iayfair Market an~ Rexell Drug Store at the northwest corner of Commercial and Main Street, providing the Bldg. Inspector includes in the permit issued a condition that the City will be forever released of any liability or requirement to maintain lateral supports for such encroaching footings under the sidewalks. On motion of Tr,~stee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried,cormuunica ion of Ernest P. Turner, 101$ E. Chestnut St., City,demanding restitution of fees expended relative to house rental was received and placed on file. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by ~andy and carried,contract for purchase of garbage was awarded to John & Jimmie Kazaroff for a oerlod of 3 years, based on hog market quotatioos with provision that a $8,000.00 faithful performance bcnd is fileS; and the Attorney instructed to prepare contract. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded bI, Cheney and carried, the City Engineer was authorized to construct a retaining wall and ramp for the transfe~ng of garbage to buyers truck at the northeasterly corner of the City dump.
