Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall June 6th, 1949. 9:00 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Trustees Absent: Trustees Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R.~ Cmrson Smith. N.J.Cheney Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of May 16th, and May 19th, 1949, further readiug of the Minutes was dlspen~ed with and approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded b~ Mandy and carried. In Re Bids Cooking Shelter S.A.Memorial Park On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for construction of cooking shelter et Santa Ana Memorial Park, as follows: Bid of Chas. W. Devote: Base bid:, as per plans and specifications $6,4~0.00. Bond in the amount of 10% of amount bid accompanied bid. Bid of Mills Bros. Construction Co.: Total sum of $6,505.00. Bond in the amount of $9000.00 accompanied bid. Bid of J. Ogden Markel: All labor and material required to erect cooking shelter for the sum of $4,996.00. Bid does not include furnishing or installing of the heating elements and so-called hot-plates. Certified check in the amount of $800.00 accompanied bid. Bid of Famularo-Stromberg, Inc.: Quotation of $6400~00. Bond in the amount~of 10% of amount bid accompan~d bid. Bid of Wm. Ro~hrbacher: All material and labor for sum of $4,995.00. No bond or check accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, bids were referred to committee for recommendation and to report back. Chairman appointed Trustee Chandler, Park Supt.,Building Inspector and Attorney, as committee. In Re Bids Bleachers - Bowl In Re Bids Rest Rooms Birch Park On motion of Trustee Mandy, second'ed by Reed and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for construction of bleachers at Santa Ana Municipal Bowl, as follows: Bid of Educational.Equipment, Inc.: Eleven sections Hercules grandstands $ 4,994.00 Three sections 1,185.00 For wood pads, add to price of the eleven sections 150.00 For wood pads, add to price of the three sections 50.00 Bond in the amount~of $900.00 accompanied bid. Bid of Fred D. Kyle, Ltd.: Sum offS11,000.00 for bleachers. Nork consists of one set of permanent bleachers seating 1939, and one set of temporary bleachers with capacity ef ~94. Certified check in the amount of $1100.00 accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, bids were referred to committee for recommendation and to report back. Chairman appointed Trustee Chandler, Park Supt.,Building Inspecto~ and Attoraey, as committee. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for construction of rest rooms at Birch Park, as follows: Bid of J. Ogden Markel: All labor and material to erect rest rooms for $9,668.00. Cashier's check in the amount of $970.00 accompanied bid.
