<br />Communication was read from Santa Aha B~eakfast Club expressing
<br />their appreciation for cooperation received from various City
<br />Departments during Orange Week, and on motion of Trustee Reed,
<br />seconded by Chandler and carried, communication was received and
<br />filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />Building Inspector was authorized to attend Annual Business Meetin
<br />of the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, to be held in
<br />Seattle, Sept. 20-23rd, without cost to the City.

<br />Communication was read from Mrs. Alice M. Learned reference rumor
<br />that South Main Street merchants were expressing a desire for
<br />removal of trees in that district. On motion of Trustee Chandler
<br />seconded by Reed and carried, Clerk was instructed to notify
<br />
<br />Mrs. Learned that South Main Street is a State Highway and that
<br />trees may not be removed unless approval is secured from State
<br />~ighway Department.
<br />At request of Secy. Santa Aha Traffic Safety Commission, and on
<br />motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />Auditor was authorized to include an item of $30.00 in the 1949-50
<br />Budget covering renewal of membership in National Safety Council.
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />permission was granted Our Lady of Guadalupe Church to hold a dance
<br />
<br />on Sunday night, July 24th, at American Legion Hall.

<br />permission was granted Santa Ana Chapter No. 389, Order of the
<br />Eastern Star to hold a dance in Masonic Temple on Monday, June 27th
