Communication was read from Burr A. Brown reference condition of curbing in front of property at 924-26 So. Broadway, and on motio~ of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, matter was referred to committee with power to act. Chairman appointed Trustee Cheney, Asst. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, commmuuication was received, filed and Chamber of Commerce advised that Council does not favor waiver of City taxes, or exclusion of this property from the City. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, reports of Building Inspector, Judge's office and Orange County Mosquito Abatement District, were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the report of the San~a Ana Civil Service Commission for fiscal year .1948-1949, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be granted to Cal South Construction Co. to permit a reduction in the front yard depth on lore in Tentative Tract No. 1146, which lies between Pacific Ave. and Artesia St., was approved and variance srant e d. On recommendation of the committee, and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Co., in the amount of $?865.?5, was accepted for the reconstruction of So. Broadway between Edinger and Borchard Sts., subject to approval of State Highway Department. . On recommendation of the committee, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the bid of A.H.Famularo, in the amount of $28990.80, was accepted covering cots truction of a 42" storm sewer on Delhi Road between Bristol and So.Flower St~ee . On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, M~p of Tract No. 1146, being llth, 12th and Pacific Ave., was approved and bond in the amount of $24,000.00, submitted by Land Improvement Co was accepted.
