No. 3378 <br /> <br />of Intention <br />Closing Alley <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Ordinance No. <br /> <br />Dance Hall <br /> <br />Regulations <br /> <br />1144 <br /> <br />The Comm~ittee reported on abandonment of alley extend- <br />ing in an easterly and westerly direction through Block <br />4 of the Salisbury Addition, located in the 1000 block <br />between W. 4th and ~. 8th Sts., stating that this is <br />a dead-end alley and reconn~ended that alley be closed. <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and <br />card, ed, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution Adopting Eap" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 35?4 <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees <br /> <br />Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, <br />Otto R. Haan, W.J.Cheney, <br />Asa Hoffman. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees None <br />Absent,Trustees None <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, <br /> <br />seconded by Haan and <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolutiou No. 3375 <br /> <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees None <br />Absent,Trustees None <br /> <br />Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, <br />Otto R. Haan, W.J.Cheney, <br />Asa Hoffman <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Frederickson, Commander of the Veterans of <br />Foreign Wars appeared before the Council relative to <br />proposed Dance Hall Ordinance and stated that their <br />organization had rented their Hall bo the Mexicans and <br />Filipinos who have conducted very orderly dances for <br />some time on Sunday~nights and requested information <br />as to how the proposed Ordinance would affect the <br />rental of their Hall. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />Where Dances a~e regularly Conducted and <br />Carried on in the City of Santa Aha, <br />California" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designat®d Ordinance No. 1144 <br /> <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, T~ustees <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None <br />, Absent,Trustees None <br /> <br />"An Ordinance ~nending Ordinance No. <br /> 10~1 Entitled, "An Ordinance Regulating <br /> Dance Halls, Dancing Pavilions and Places <br /> <br />Dale G. Cheney, <br />Asa Hoffman. <br /> <br />"A Resolution of the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana Declaring Their Inten- <br />tion to Order the Closing up and Abandon- <br />ment of an Alley Located Midway Between <br />West Fourth Street and West Fifth Street <br />and Extending Westerly from the Alley West <br />of Olive Street heretofore Dedicated fo~ <br />Alley Purposes to the City of Santa Ana; <br />Declaring it to be for the Public Interest <br />and Convenience and Fixing the Time and <br />Place for Hearing Objections to said <br />Proposed Improvement." <br /> <br />carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> <br />
