Patmor, Fire <br />Department, to enter the armed forces, effective <br /> <br /> January 10th, 19~_$, was accepted. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of the Fire Department <br />and approval of Civil Service Commission, and on motion <br />of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />J.H.Weisberger, Alphonse A. Abels, 0rlo L. Moore end <br />Clarence K. Noble, were appointed as temporary hosemen <br />in the Fire Department. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of the Fire Department <br />and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney an~ <br />carried, the resignation of Samuel B. Ruff, fireman, <br />effective January 8th, 1948, to enter the armed forces, <br />was accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, the request of Ralph E. Schenck to conduct a <br />commercial poultry yard at 3E8 E. Chestnut St., was <br />denied for the reason that it is in violation of the <br />Zoning and Poultry Ordinances. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and csrrie~ <br />application of Powell Neon Sign Co. to hang a neon sign <br />for Richards Machine Works, 929 E. 1st and application <br />of General Neon Co. to hang a neon sign for Grand <br />Central Garage at 809 E. 1st St., were granted and signs <br />ordered hung under supervision of Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On recomm~endation of the Police Department and on motion <br />of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the <br />applications of Arnold C. Johnson and Billy C. Robinson <br />to drive taxis for the Broadway Cab Co., and application <br />of David Crabtree to drive a bus for the Santa Ana Bus <br />Co., were granted and Clerk instructed to issue permits. <br />,, <br /> <br />On recom~uendation of the City Attorney and on motion of <br />Trustee Deckert, seconded by Di~on and carried, the <br />application of Harley D.
