In Re Notification Alcoholic Beverages In Re Leave of Absence W.J.Cheney In Re Taxicab Applications In Re Petition Edinger & Broadway was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, request to use the streets was grante, On reco~anendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the appoirtment of Leonard Lester Deuel, Jr., effective October 5th, 1948, as patrolman, was approved, providin there is a vacancy in the Department. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, the request of M.R. Bellows for a leave of absence for six months effective Oct. 16, 1945 and request of W.A.Kintz for a leave of absence for ninety days, effective Sept. 1, 1945, were Service Board to be advised of this denied and Civil action. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and ,carried, communication from Fire Chief advising of various resignations and appointments of firemen, was received and filed. On metion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalizatic,n of alcoholic beverage aoplications made by Paul P. Ortega and Joe H. Perez, 1030 Logan St.; Samuel R. Hopkins and Arthur A. Dempster, dba The Ice House, 1705 N. Main St.; Albert Brunet, Chas. E. Rees and Clementine M. Roberts, dba Ltde Cafe, 415 Bush St., and W.D.Owen and LaVerne Zirinsky, 418 Bush St., were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the request of W.J.Cheney for permission to leave the state for a period of thirty days, beginning October 12th, 1945, was granted. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carrie( applications of Robert Granville Ringling, Walter A. Jennings and Ross E. Swearengin, to drive taxis for the Broadway Cab Co. and application of Robert E. Van Winkle to drive taxi for the Black and Green Cab Co., were granted and Clerk authorized to issue license.. A petition was read signed by sixteen property owners in the vicinity of Edinger and Broadway requesting that an arc light be placed at the intersection of Edinger and Broadway and that curb be constructed in 2~ont~of property of petitioners. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, petition was referred to Engineer and Street I
