Bellows for a leave of <br />absence for six months effective Oct. 16, 1945 and <br />request of W.A.Kintz for a leave of absence for ninety <br /> <br />days, effective Sept. 1, 1945, were <br />Service Board to be advised of this <br /> <br />denied and Civil <br />action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />,carried, communication from Fire Chief advising of <br />various resignations and appointments of firemen, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />On metion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalizatic,n <br />of alcoholic beverage aoplications made by Paul P. <br /> <br />Ortega and Joe H. Perez, 1030 Logan St.; Samuel R. <br />Hopkins and Arthur A. Dempster, dba The Ice House, <br /> <br />1705 N. Main St.; Albert Brunet, Chas. E. Rees and <br />Clementine M. Roberts, dba Ltde Cafe, 415 Bush St., <br />and W.D.Owen and LaVerne Zirinsky, 418 Bush St., were <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, the request of W.J.Cheney for permission to <br />leave the state for a period of thirty days, beginning <br />October 12th, 1945, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carrie( <br />applications of Robert Granville Ringling, Walter A. <br />Jennings and Ross E. Swearengin, to drive taxis for <br />the Broadway Cab Co. and application of Robert E. <br /> <br />Van Winkle to drive taxi for the Black and Green Cab <br />Co., were granted and Clerk authorized to issue license.. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by sixteen property owners <br />in the vicinity of Edinger and Broadway requesting that <br />an arc light be placed at the intersection of Edinger <br />and Broadway and that curb be constructed in 2~ont~of <br />property of petitioners. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and <br /> <br />carried, petition was referred to Engineer and Street I <br /> <br /> <br />
