Jr. C.of C. <br /> <br />Mayor, <br />27th, <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, request of ?re~. Y.N.C.A. for a loading zone <br /> at lOS E. 5th St., to be used for bicycle racks, was <br /> referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner <br /> for study and to report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> On motion of T~ustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and <br /> carried, communication from Carson Conrad, Captain, Air <br /> Corps, A.A.F.~V.F.T.C., expressing appreciation for use <br /> of the Municipal Bowl during the past three years and <br /> cooperation of Dale Griggs, Park Superintendent, was <br /> received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from Dr. W.J.Ross stating that he is <br />desirous of entering into a contract with the City, in <br />the amount of ~2500.00, to decorate a float for the <br />City of Santa Ana to be entered in the Pasadena Rose <br />Parade, January 1st, 1946, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried <br />the Mayor was appointed, as a committee, to investigate <br />and contact the Junior and Senior Chambezs of Commerce <br />as to whether they desire to accept Mr. Ross~ offer to <br />furnish a float in the Parade and to report back to the <br />Council at a called meeting. <br /> <br />Communication from 5. S.Pettis protesting the rezoning <br />of the district north of Martha Lane for the proposed <br />site of the Santa Ana Junior College on West l~th and <br />Bristol Streets, was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from Navy League of the United States to <br />the Nayor calling attention to observance of Navy Day, <br />October 27th, 1945, was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Clerk was <br />instructed to prepare a Resolution, to be signed by the <br /> <br /> on behalf of the Council, setting aside October <br /> 1948, as Navy Day. <br /> <br />Communication from County Clerk, together with certified <br />copy of Resolution adopted.~by the Orange County Board of <br />Supervisors, October 9th, 1945 were read and on motion <br />of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />communication and Resolution were received and filed. <br /> <br />Request of Santa Ana Junior Chamber of Commerce for <br /> <br />permission to use the downtown streets on the night of <br />Monday, December 31st, 1948 for the Santa Annual Mrolic <br /> <br /> <br />
