On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, request of Veterans of Foreign Wars to hold a Parade, on Armistice Day, November llth, 1948, was granted. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of American Veterans of World War II for permission to exhibit the only rocket propelled plane that Japan ever built was granted providing they place such exhibit on private property and Clerk author ized to advise them of such action. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, communication from Metropolitan Water District together with tabulation showing assessed valuation of each of the municipalities constituting a district as of August 18, 1946, was received and filed· On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, request of F.G.Longtin that a school patrol be placed on W. 4th St. and Olive, at McKinley School, was referred to Street Commissioner to report back at next meeting. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication from Chief of Fire Dept. address to Civil Service Board advising that Clarence Noble, emergency hoseman resigned Sept. l, 1948 and appoint- ment of Jack Z. Cluff, Sept. l, 1948, was received and file d · Communication from Chief of Police advising of appoint- merit of John B. Spitzer, as probationary patrolman, effective Sept. 1, 1948, per authority of Civil Service Board, was received and filed~ on motion of Trustee Dix~ seconded by Haan and carried. Communication from Thatcher & Hollingswo~th advising of removal of temporary building located on the south- east corner of W. 17th and Patton Sts, in compliance with agreement to remove same prior to Sept. l, 1946, was read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, cormnunication was received and filed.
