No.$8 Harold Fermner In Re Appoint employee for Planning Commission of permit to Robert G. Sturges on the grounds that the necessity does not exist for the operation of another Taxicab Company. Matter was discussed between the City Attorney and Delbert Larsh and it was decided that the hearing date shall be held on February 18th, 1946. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, matter was received and filed and unless an appeal is filed within five days, the action of the Taxicab Cemmitteeshall be mandatory; otherwise matter will be delayed until next meeting. ,, On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, application of Paul P. Ortega and Joe H. Perez to operate a pool hall at 1030 Logan St. was approved. Pe~i~ion having been checked by the City Clerk and suffi cien~ number of slgna~ures of qualified electors at~ache en motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the petition for annexation of contiguous property located southeast of Santa Ana was referred to the Planning Commission to determine if the buildings and public improvements in the territory proposed to be annexed are inferior to the standard of design of building construction requirements and public improve- ments required by ordinances and regulations of the City ~f Santa Ana and that the Planning Commission make its report to the City Council within forty days. ,, On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, request of W.R.Gordon, at 8th and Spurgeon Sts for a loading zone by the entrance of their garage e~ the Spurgeon Street side was referred to the Street Comm~.ssioner and Street Superintendent to report back at the next meeting. On motion of Trustee Dmckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, comm~mication and Resolution No. 88 of the Planning Commission denying application of Harold Fermmer to erect a service station at 1441 S. Flower St more particularly described as Lots 13 and 14, Block 22 of Tract ~o. 382, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the Planning Commission was authorized to spen8 up to $1,000.00 for the services of an Engineer for the balance of the fiscal year and if such an Engineer is employed he shall use the Planning Commission's office and work only with such Commission and not with the Engineer's office.
