Eugene Dixon <br /> <br /> In Re <br /> <br /> Communication <br /> <br />'S.A.City Schools (Storm drain <br />18th to 1Vth on Bristol) <br /> <br /> Communication from Thatcher & Hollingsworth requesting <br /> official release of bond No. 49??6, in the amount of <br /> $1,SO0.O0 covering removal of temporary building at <br /> <br /> 17th and Patton Sts., was received and on motion of <br /> Trustee Chancy, seconded by Dixon and carried, bond was <br /> officially ~'eleased with instructions to Clerk that <br /> National Automobile & Casualty Insurance Co. be notified <br /> of this action. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chancy, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, communication from ChamBer of Commerce <br /> recommending certain parking regulations was referred to <br /> the parking comEittee which is now making a study of <br /> the situation. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Chancy and <br /> carried, communication from Chief, Operations Division, <br /> U.S.Eng~neer Office stating that it is their understand- <br /> ing that the Assistance League would assume liability <br /> for the electricity used at the W. 8th St. Headquarters <br /> was received and City Auditor directed to forward bill <br /> to the Assistance League for payment. <br /> <br /> Request of Postmaster that loading zone established at <br /> 310 No. Broadway be abandoned and that loading zone be <br /> established at 312 North Broadway for use of Post Office <br /> patrons was read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seoo~ed <br /> by Chancy and carried, matter was referred to City <br /> Engineer and Street Commissioner to report back at the <br /> next meeting. <br /> <br /> Request of Secy. Santa Ana City Schools that State approved <br /> type of traffic signs be installed at the various schoel~ <br /> zones throughout Santa Ana and that cross-walk over <br /> <br /> Tenth Street on the east side of Sycamme St. be painted <br /> for use of Junior college students was read and on <br /> motion of T~stee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> matter was referred to City Engineer and Street <br /> Commissioner to report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and <br /> carried, request of W. Eugene Dixon for permission to <br /> leave the State for a period of approximately three <br /> weeks, beginning October 10th, 1948, was granted. <br /> <br />Communication from Secy. Santa Ana City Schools advising <br />that Board of Education awarded bid to Cox Bros.Const. <br /> <br />Co. for construction of storm drain from 15th to l?th <br /> o~ Bristol. _ <br />Sts/was recelvec and filed and on motion of Trustee <br /> <br /> <br />
