Orange Co. <br /> <br />Dahlia Society <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Well at <br /> <br />City DLunp <br /> <br />Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, matter was <br />referred to Trustee Deckert. <br /> <br />Communication from Pres. Ssnta Ana P.T.A. Council <br />requezting that the City of Santa Aha acquire and main- <br />tain a supervised connnunity recreational center and <br />playground for the youth of Santa Ana and recommending <br />that building facilities on the W. 8th St. site of the <br />A.A.F.W.T.C. be utilized for this purpose, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the Clerk was directed to write the Pres. <br />Santa Aha P.T.A. Council stating that the Council is <br />in sympathy with the program as outlined and that at <br />the present time the Army is in possession of this <br />property but that negotiations are under way with <br />Washington endeavoring to secure part of these faciliti~ <br />for housing purposes for returned veterans. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Con~nunication from American Legion Santa Aha Post No. 3~ <br />requesting use of the Municipal Bowl on July 3rd and <br />4th for the purpose of staging the Fire Works Pageant <br />on July 4th, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, request wam referred to a committee composed <br />of Trustees Deckert and Chairman~With power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, request of President Orange County Dahlia <br />Society for use of plot of ground north of the Union <br />Oil Station at the intersection of North Main St. and <br />Santa Aha Boulevard for a dahlia garden was read and <br />permission granted. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Communication from City Engineer relative to drilling <br />of a 10" well at the City Dump ground at an approximate <br />cost of $1000,00 plus electric equipment at $3V$,00 <br />complete or alternate proposal of a gasoline <br />engine and pump with a small elevated tank which will <br /> <br />cost approximately $310.00 plus the cost of the tower <br />on which to set the tank, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the recommendation of the City Engineer that <br />the well be drilled and the electric equipment be pur- <br />chased if the Edison Company can furnish power at a <br />reasonable cost, was accepted if and when the lease <br />of the present lessee and the City of Santa Aha has bee~ <br />extended or renewed. <br /> <br /> <br />
