Dahlia Society In Re Well at City DLunp Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, matter was referred to Trustee Deckert. Communication from Pres. Ssnta Ana P.T.A. Council requezting that the City of Santa Aha acquire and main- tain a supervised connnunity recreational center and playground for the youth of Santa Ana and recommending that building facilities on the W. 8th St. site of the A.A.F.W.T.C. be utilized for this purpose, was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was directed to write the Pres. Santa Aha P.T.A. Council stating that the Council is in sympathy with the program as outlined and that at the present time the Army is in possession of this property but that negotiations are under way with Washington endeavoring to secure part of these faciliti~ for housing purposes for returned veterans. ,, Con~nunication from American Legion Santa Aha Post No. 3~ requesting use of the Municipal Bowl on July 3rd and 4th for the purpose of staging the Fire Works Pageant on July 4th, was read. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and carried, request wam referred to a committee composed of Trustees Deckert and Chairman~With power to act. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of President Orange County Dahlia Society for use of plot of ground north of the Union Oil Station at the intersection of North Main St. and Santa Aha Boulevard for a dahlia garden was read and permission granted. ,, Communication from City Engineer relative to drilling of a 10" well at the City Dump ground at an approximate cost of $1000,00 plus electric equipment at $3V$,00 complete or alternate proposal of a gasoline engine and pump with a small elevated tank which will cost approximately $310.00 plus the cost of the tower on which to set the tank, was read. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the City Engineer that the well be drilled and the electric equipment be pur- chased if the Edison Company can furnish power at a reasonable cost, was accepted if and when the lease of the present lessee and the City of Santa Aha has bee~ extended or renewed.
