Doss; Parcel of property Communication from Civil Service Commission relative reinstatement of J.J.Hansen to position of Fire Marshal with attendant pay for this position pending a pro- motional examination to establish an eligibility list for this position was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was approved, received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalizati¢ of alcoholic beverage applications made by Michael Nolfetto, 202 W. 3rd St.; Ira W. Shtves, 417 Bush St.; Charles D. Simmons, 1904 W. 3rd St., to be transferred from Enrique M. 0ntiveros; Ivan Brooks and Hildreth V. Houch, 41S W. 4th St.; and Ra~nd W. Gorman and Abe Granas, 1822 S. Main St. to be transferred from Raymond W. Gorman and Abe Granas, were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, applications of Joseph A. Stuart, Harold A. Belwood, Glenn D. Ezelle, Wesley Herman Bates and Roscoe J. Green to drive taxis for the Broadway Cab Co., and application of Russell W. Gale to drive taxis for the Black and Green Cab Co., and application of Carl E. Richey to drive bus for the Santa Ana Bus Co,, ~nd application of Ralph D. Rankin tO drive for the City ~imousine Service, were granted and Clerk authorized to issue licenses. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, the request of Ira ~¥. Shives for permission to operate a pool hall at *17 Bush St., was referred to the Police Department for investigation and written report and to report back at the next meeting. The-offer of Nolon M. Doss in the amount of $600.00 for parcel of land owned by the City of Santa Ana described as beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot i of the Dericot Tract, thence south 80 feet, thence east 33.7 feet, thence in a northwesterly direction parallel with Union Pacific Railroad Tract to a point 4 feet east of the point of beginning, thence to point of beginning, was read. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, the Mayor was appointed as a committee of one to investigate and report back at the next meeting.
