On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried Clerk was instructed to write the Fire Chief requesting that he specify the needed equipment, together with specifications covering equipment, to establish this fire station and report back at the next meeting. Communication from Chairman, Santa Annual Frolic stating that the Santa &ua Junior Chamber of Cormmerce will stage the Santa Annual Frolic on December 31st, 1946 and inviting Council to participate by entering a decorated car to be used as a Divisional Head, was read. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, matter was referred to Chairman of the Board with power to act. Communication from Tom Kinney stating that upon return from the armed forces he was placed on salary of patrolman and requesting detective's pay retroactive to December ~, 1945, was read. On ~otion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, request was referred to Civil Service Commissio~ to report back to Cotmcil. Communication from Civil Service Board regarding request of Chester S. Gross for re-instatement to his prewar position as Detective with attendant increase in pay retroactive to September 1st, 1946 and stating that an eligible list will be created for position as Detective for future official appointment, was read. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received and filed. Copy of communication from Wire Chief addressed to Civil Service Board stating that following members of Fire Department have completed their probationary period; George Berry, Kenneth Fowler, Gilbert Cbittock, Norman Garrett, Byron Quivey, Them Neyer, Homer Henderson, J.$.Spalding, Iven L. Meyer, Robert Motley, and letter from Civil Service Board recommending permanent appoint- ments of these employees to position of HOsemen; also recommending permanent appointment of following named employees to position of patrolmen in Police Department; Shelby L. Bryson, Franklin Carter, Clarence F. Johnson, Jack B. Lentz, John E. Pilgrim, Joe M. Reeves, Charles W. Ryel, Mr~est B. Graeber and Delbert D. Sanders, per report of Chief of Police submitted November 15, 1946, were read.
