i70 City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: Trustees Dale G. Deckert, W. Eugene Dixon, 0tto;R~ ~aan, Asa Hoffman. Absent: Trustees W.J.Cheney The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of April 1st, 1946, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried. Cheverton Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall APRIL 15th, 1946. 7:30 P.M. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication from Martha Koofolis thanking the Council for the installation of street light at 6th and Hawley Sts., was received and filed. Communication from Office of Division Engineer granting permission to the City of Santa Aha to enter the premise covered by the following leases from the City of Santa Ana to the Government for the purpose of m~wing the 1Aw~s and tying up shrubs and bushes in order to prevent damage to same from windstorms, etc.: A-W $68-eng-4057, B-W 509-eng-1709 and C-W04-193-eng-89~, was read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carrie~ communication was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, communication from Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cook requesting that trees remain on South Main St., was received and filed. Communication from Irene Adkinson, Corresponding Secy. The Ebell Society advising that the Executive Board of the Santa Ana Ebell at their regular board meeting held April 2, 1946 unanimously voted to give their support t( those groups favoring the preservation of ou~ trees in Southern California was read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon ~nd carried, communication was received and filed. , Communication from Marion G. Cheverton, owner of propert on which Alpha Beta Food Market No. lB is $ocated givin~ consent to the removal of trees from the partGvay on So. Main St., near the store and requesting that her name be ~dded to the petition requesting the removal was read, and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication was received and filed.
