On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication from Plastering Contractors Assoc requesting increase in salaries for City Building Inspectors, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, applications of Clifford A. Osborne, Robert Dean Poh, Richard E. Buster, Hugh S. MacColl, Don R. Warner and Howard E. Marquise to drive taxicabs, were granted and Clerk authorized to issue licenses. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, acceptance of franchise granted to the Southern Pacific Railroad Co., by Ordinance No. 1168, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, request of Lorin G. Moore for a loading zone on the south side of W. 8th St., running west from Broadway was referred to Street Cormuissioner and City Engineer to report back. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, cormmunication and Resolution No. 74 of the Planning Commission approving application for variance of Frank Miller to use property at 1409 Bush St. to conduct accounting and income tax business, was approved. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication and Resolution No. 73 of the Planning Commission approving application for variance of Oscar Reslow to build partition to separate the kitchen from the living room and install shower in the bathroom in garage apartment located at 10~2 N. Patton St., was approved.
