City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Smith. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Trustees <br /> <br />W.J.Cheney, COurtney R. Chandler, <br />Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, <br />R. R/W on East <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br /> <br />Santa Aha City Hall <br /> <br />November 3rd, 1947. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and <br /> carried, Gilbert B. Martien was appointed as Auditor an~ <br /> Purchasing Age~nt of the City of Santa Aha and Clerk to <br /> administer the oath of office. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried <br /> all departments of the City which have bank accounts are <br /> directed to obtain signature cards from the banks of the <br /> usual type providing for co-signing of the Treasurer <br /> with the department heads, or, for the T~easueer's <br /> signature alone. <br /> <br /> The request of The Reformed Church of Santa Aha for a <br /> special permit to move a chapel from the Santa Aha Army <br /> Air Base to be located on So~th Flower between St. <br /> Andrews ~nd St. Gertrude Place, which chapel is higher <br /> than the 28 foot limit, was read. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on <br /> motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried <br /> request was .granted and Engineer authorized to issue <br /> permit. <br /> <br /> set <br /> This being the night/for hearing protests on the abandon <br /> <br />merit of Fifth Street between Poinsettia Street on the <br />west and Southern Pacific Right-of-way on the east, <br /> <br />Fred Wilbur, attorney, appeared on behalf of C.S.Perez <br />protesting this abandonment. Messrs. Lee Jump and <br /> <br />C.L. Herbert also protested this abandonment. L.W.Blodget <br />attorney, appeared for his client favoring the abandon- <br />merit. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and <br />carried, matter was referred to committee consisting <br />of Mayor, Engineer, Planning Consultant and Trustee <br />Cheney to investigate and report back at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
