Flower St. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of <br />Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Clerk <br />was authorized to advertise for bids covering the furn- <br />ishing of a variable weight tandem roller, weights to <br /> <br />vary from five tons to <br />December 15th, 1947. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />eight tons; bids to be opened <br /> <br />Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried. <br /> <br /> claim of Mary M. King, in the amount of $5,010.00 for <br /> <br /> alleged injuries sustained while traveling in the 1J00 <br /> block No. Main St., August 8lst, 1947, was referred to <br /> City Attorney for recommendation. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br /> carried, application of George A. Easton and Kenneth F. <br /> Mooney to conduct the business of dealing in motor <br /> vehicles, at 1420-1424 South Main St., was held over for <br /> thirty days and Clerk authorized to advertise in accord- <br /> ance with automobile dealerts Ordinance. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> Request of M.WoScarborough for permission to install <br /> <br /> an electric sign on the curb at 2651 Santa Ana Blvd. and <br /> an electric sign on city property next to Union Oil <br /> station, Main and Santa Ana Blvd., was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, communication was received and referred to <br />Building Inspector for investigation and to report back <br />at the next meeting; Clerk to notify Mr. Scarborough of <br />action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Heed, seconded by Mandy and carried <br />action on application of H.M.Penn to conduct commercial <br />poultry yard at 825 Cypress Ave., was postponed until <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, applications of Bowie B. Short, Merle Gochenoue <br />Paul Edward Wheeler, Kenneth D. McCormick and William <br /> <br />A. Stewart to drive taxicabs were granted and Clerk <br />authorized to issue licenses. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by approximately fifty.two <br />residents and property owners on South Flower Street <br />protesting against sycamore trees which have been placed <br />in the parkw~.y on both sides of the street. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Heed and <br />carried, petition was received and referred to Forestry <br />Board for recommendation and to report back at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
