Csmson Smith. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees Nona <br /> <br />Absent,Trustees W.J.Cheney <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> <br />seconded by Mandy and <br /> <br />carried, application of H.M.Penn to conduct commercial <br />poultry yard at 825 Cypress Ave., was denied for the <br />reason that he did not secure approval of all neighbour~ <br />as requested. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and <br />.carried, copy of communication from Water Superintende. <br />addressed to Civil Service Board, advising of appoint- <br />ment of Doris M. Weaver to position of Account Clerk, <br />in the Water Department, was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication was read from City Engineer recommending <br />that all bids received covering the furnishing of stree <br />signs be rejected and signs purchased on the open marke <br />On m~tion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, bids on street signs were rejected and Enginee <br />and committee authorized to negotiate for the purchase <br />of street signs on the open market. <br /> <br />A vote of thanks was extended to L.W.Blodget for his <br />negotiations with the Government on certain leases, and <br />on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, Mr. Blodget was retained to assist the City <br />Attorney on contracts and leases covering W. 8th St. <br />Headquarters, Civic Center and Air Base properties. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and <br />carried, request of M.W.~carborough to install an <br />electric sign on Santa Aha Boulevard was denied for the <br />reason that Ordinance prohibits placing of electric sig <br />on the Bouleyard; Forestry Department instructed to tri~ <br />trees in this vicinity and Clerk to notify Mr. Scarborou <br />of Council action. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance establishing water rates and <br /> service charges in the City of Santa Aha, <br /> prescribing rules and regulations governing <br /> application and installation of service and <br /> consumption of water, fixing the penalty <br /> for the violation thereof, and repealing <br /> ordinances in conflict herewith." <br />was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for <br /> <br />second reading. <br /> <br />h <br /> <br /> <br />
