· <br />335 <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Amendment to Zoning <br /> <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />Commercial Properties, <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bids <br /> <br />Parking Meters <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Award of bid <br /> <br />Cast Iron Pipe <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bids <br /> <br />Kit ohenwar · <br /> <br />Community Center Bldg. <br /> <br />Inc. <br /> <br />Co-m-Anioation and Resolution No. 112 of the Planning <br />Commission recommending approval of application of <br />Co-wercial Properties, Inc., to r~aone property at the <br />south west corner of Pomona St.. and Broadway, and that <br />the Broadway frontage directly opposite the Sears <br />Roebuck & Co. proposed pa~king lot be changed from R-1 <br />to R-3, and that lots which would front on Birch Street, <br />when that street is extended south, be changed from <br />to R-2, from Pomona St. to a point 6~0 feet south th. reel <br />were read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by <br />Deck. ri and carried~ the Clerk was instructed to publish <br />a notice of hea~ing in a newspaper of general circulatior <br />.ten days prior to the next meeting of the Council on <br />February X?th, 1947, relative to reclassification of the <br />territory described above. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deokert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to open bids covering <br />the furnishing of two hundred (200) automatic parking <br />meterse as followss <br /> <br /> The Dual Parking Meter Co. $73.00 per unit <br /> and"~dditional oha~ges for installation and freight. <br /> Bond in the amount of $1500.00 acc~npanied bid. <br /> <br /> Maces-Hale Park-O-Meter Co.$55.00 per unit <br /> and additional oha~ges for optional material and <br /> serviCeSo <br /> BOnd in the amount of $1231.00 accompanied bid. <br /> <br />On motion of Tx-ustc, Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />bids were referred to a committee of three, consisting of <br /> <br />Chairman of the Board, Tx~Astee Cheney and HJalmar Knudsoz <br />for study and report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />The committee reported that there ia a difference of <br />$1,4~4000 between the high and low bid, but there is allc <br />a difference of one yea~ in the delivery dates, the high <br />bidder quoting 50 to 60 weeks, while the low bidder <br />quoted Jan. 15 and Apr. 15, 1949, two years hence and <br />reco~aending that highbid on cast i~on pipe be accepted. <br />On motion of T~ustee Deokert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, the recommendation of the oo,-,~ttee wes accepted <br />and contract awarded to the National Cast Iron Pipe Co., <br />and Clerk instructed to return check of unsuccessful <br />bidder. <br /> <br />On motion of ~A~ustee Dixon, seconded by Deokert and <br />carried, bids covering furnishing of kitchenware, to be <br />used at the Officer's Club, Community Center Building, <br />W. 8th Street, were referred to Chai~nan 'of the Board <br />with power to act. <br /> <br /> <br />
