Bowers <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Hequest <br /> <br />Use of Bowl <br /> <br />V.F.W. <br /> <br />Dixon and carried, recommendation <br />accepted. <br /> <br />of the committee was <br /> <br />The committee was granted until March l?th, 1947 to <br />report on request of Mrs. Roy F. Bowers for a "no park- <br />ing sign" on Poinsettia Street extending north from <br />Washington Avenue to the north boundary of the Washington <br />Court Apartments. <br /> <br />Mr. J. Chas. Cowan appeared before the Council on behalf <br />of the Veterans of Foreign Wars requesting use of the <br />Municipal Bowl on Armistice Day. <br /> <br />The Mayor recommended that request be held over until <br />next meeting of the Council on March 17th, 1947 in order <br />to check with the American Legion to determine if Santa <br />Ana will be the Host City, and if the American Legion <br />will desire use of the Bowl on Armistice.Day, as has <br />been the custom. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />the City Council adjourned. <br /> <br />Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. <br /> <br />Present= <br /> <br />Trustees <br /> <br />Otto R. Deckert, <br />Asa Hoffman. <br /> <br />Eugene Dixon, <br />W.J.Cheney, <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each <br />member of the City Council having received copies of the <br />Minutes of March 3rd, 1947, further reading of the Minutes <br />was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Haan, <br />seconded by Dixon and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />League of Caltf. Cities <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br /> <br />March 17th, 1947. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, City Auditor was instructed to forward completed <br />questionnaire to the League of California Cities, <br />relative to number of liquor establishments in the City <br />of Santa Ana for the purpose of securing additinnal <br />revenue through legislation from sale of alcoholic <br />beverages. <br /> <br /> <br />
