RESOLUTION NO. 55-215 DECLARING CF~TA~,~ STREETS Ii~ Tt~ CITY OF SANTA ~A TO BE OiiEoWAY STREETS WHE W~EAS, after study, it has been determined that the traffic conEestion vrlthin the City would be relieved and the resultant movement of vekicles in and around the Central Traffic Districts would be more orderly and more expeditious ~lthout increasing the speed of the individual vehicles if certain streets, herein set out, were designated as one-way streets; N~'~, THEREFORE, BE IT ~SOLVED: That pursuant to the provisions of the Vekicle Cede of the State of California and Section 5~61 of the Santa Ana ~,humi- cipal Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha does hereby designate the streets as hereinbelow set out as one-way streets and does hereby declare that traffic shall move on said streets in one specified direction only and that all drivers of vehicles are prohibited from driving or moving said vehicles in a direction opposite to that herein designated on said streets. The streets af- fected hereby and the beginning and termination of the one-way portion thereof are as follows: On Bush Street from Seventeenth Street on the North to Bishop Street on the South, all traffic shall move in a Southerly direction only; On Sycamore Street from Bishop Street on the South to Seventeenth Street on the North, all traffic shall move in a Northerly direction only; On Third Street from French Street on the East to Flower Street on the ~[est, all traffic shall move in a ~gesterly direction only; On Fifth Street from Flower Street on the West to French Street on the East, all traffic shall move in an Easterly direction only. This Resolution shall ta~e effect immediately upon its adoption but the traffic movements herein provided for and prohibited shall not be required or prohibited mutil such time as said streets have been posted as required by the Code author- ities hereinabove referenced.
