RESOLUTION NO. 61-9 ESII'ABLISHING 'i~WO-WAY ~'RAFFIC <br />ON SYCAMORE STREE~£ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 1, 1955, by Resolution No. 55-215, four <br />streets were declared to be one-way streets, permitting traffic to <br />move in one direction only to allow a circular pattern around the <br />central business district providing a more orderly and expeditious <br />movement for vehicles; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sycamore Street, between Bishop Street and Seventeenth <br />Street, was established for North bound traffic only, and now after <br />study it has been determined desireable to eliminate said portion of <br />Sycamore Street from the system of one-way streets in the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORe, BE IT RESOLVED: 't~nat Resolution No. 55-215 <br />is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the second subparagraph of <br />Paragraph 2, which declared that "On Sycamore Street, from Bishop <br />Street on the South to Seventeenth Street on the North, all traffic <br />shall move in a Northerly direction only." <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That as of the effective date of <br />this Resolution no vehicle travelling North on Sycamore Street shall <br />be permitted to make a left-hand turn so as to enter Seventeenth <br />Street and move in a Westerly direction. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Department of Public Works <br />shall remove all signs and street markings indicating a one-way <br />traffic pattern, make such changes as are necessary to provide for <br />conventional parking on the right side of the street only, and post <br />and place any necessary signs and street markings for the establish- <br />ment of two-way traffic flow on said portion of Sycamore Street and <br />install such signs and markings as are necessary to indicate to and <br />notify drivers that left-hand turns into Seventeenth Street from <br />Sycamore Street are prohibited. All of said changes shall be accom- <br />plished so that the two-way traffic pattern will be established on <br /> <br />February 1, 1961. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
