On motion of <br />Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the recommendation of <br />the Park Superintendent was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the Park <br />Superintendent was instructed to notify the tenants of action taken <br />by the Council reference closing of Casa de Santa Ana. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the ap- <br />plication of Robert C. Munro to conduct the business of dealing in <br />motor vehicles at 2130 South Main Street, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the City <br />Attorney was instructed to amend'Ordinance 1029 regulating the <br />business of dealing in motor vehicles, eliminating the necessity of <br />Council approval reference issuance of auto permits. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br />· notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br />applications made by Charles D. Simmons, 802 E. 4th St., and Edra C. <br /> <br />Brophy and Joseph P. B~ophy, 220 E. 4th St., were received and filed. <br />, <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />applications of F.A.MacIntyre and Nesser O. Saba, to drive taxicabs, <br />were received and permits granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the reports <br />of the Recreation Department covering use of Community Center Club- <br />house for the period Jan. I through March 31, 1951, Recreation Depart- <br />ment for the third quarter 1951 and statement from Purchasing Agent <br />showing receipts, disbursements and fund balances as of April 30, 1951 <br />were received and filed. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee <br />McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Budget covering the expend- <br />iture of State Gas Tax funds for streets of major importance for the <br /> <br />year 1951-52 was approved. <br />,, <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute right-of-way contract and <br />easement of the Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, for <br />the construction of a ~storm drain on that portion of Lot I of Potts, <br />Borden and Sidwell Tract, on the west side of North Main Street and <br />the Freeway, subject to the approval of the City Attorney. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried, the <br />request of Santa Ana Used Car Exchange for waiver of penalty on City <br />License for the second e~arter 1951, was denied. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by t~elve property owners and tenants of <br />property on the east side of South Main Street between Anahurst Place <br />and Delhi Road requesting improvement of the alley. On motion of <br />Trustee McBride, seconded by Hunter and carried, the request was <br />referred to the City Engineer with instructions to negotiate with the <br />property owners for the resurfacing of the alley. <br /> <br /> <br />
