RESOLUTION NO. ~§-31 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEY_~TION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIG- NATED "MAIN AND NEWPORT N. E. ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING PROTESTS THERETO ~EREAS, the Boundar~ Commission of Orange County, California has approved the description of certain real property, as herein- below set out, for the purpose of au nexation, and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana has approved said annexation, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California has determined the advisability of initiating proceedings for such annexation, and has determined that said real property is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana and is uninhabited, as hereinbelow set out; NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation of the real property herein described; that the reasons why said Council initiates proceedings in this matter are as follows: 1. That there are multiple ownerships in said area and many of said owners have expressed themselves as desiring annexation of their property to said City. 2. That the area can best be served by the City of Santa Ana with sll municipal services of the highest caliber obtainable in Orange County. 3. That the improvements contemplated by the City will by their proper location serve and benefit said territory, or so much thereof as is within the City of Santa Ana, Cd ifornta. BE IT FURTHER RES0~ED: That the City Council hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of the Annexation o f Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Section 35303 of the Government Code on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous to the City of S~nta Ana, lies in the County of 0range, State of California, and is described as:
