Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to consolidate this special election with the general election to be held June 3, 19~8, and further authorizes the said Board of Supervisors to form the precinc~within the City of S~ta Ana, to fix the poling places, appoint the precinct boards, provide for the expenses of said election, and canvas the returns of said special election. That the election officers serving at said consolidated election shall receive as compensation ~br their services, the sum fixed by the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, that the polls shall be open between the hours of 7 o'clock A.h. and 7 o'clock l-'.~!., that t~e voting precincts, polling places and election boards shall be those named and established by said Board of Supervisors for the primary election to be held June 3, 19~8, which is a State-wide election. That said proposition to be submitted to the electors~ as herein set forth, shall be submitted under the following measure: PROPOSITION TO CHANGE THE PURPOSE FOR .~{ICH BOND PROCEEDS ~t~Y BE USED Shall the money obtained from the sale of bonds approved by the electors of the City of Santa Ana at a special election held April 9, 1946, originally proposed to be used for im- proving Santiago Creek in Ssnta Ana, now be used in the con- struction of a building to house the Santa Ana Police Department? , YES ' ) ' ~,I'0 ' ) , ) BE IT Fb-RTHER ]~SOLVED: That due to City and the very crowded condition at the the rapid growth of the City Hall, particularly in the Police Department, it is necessary and imperative that addi- tional space be provided for the Police Department of the City of Saa ta Ana, and the City Council hereby determines that public interest and necessity demand the construction of a building for the purpose of housing the Santa Ana Police Department.
