<br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION

<br />NO. 2142
<br />
<br /> The City Council of the'City of Santa Ana, pursuant to the provisions of the
<br />"Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925", and amendments thereto, do resolve as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the public interest and necessity require and it is the intention
<br />of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to order the following acquisitions
<br />for the opening of a street seventy (70) feet in width lying Northeasterly o2 and immediately
<br />adjacent to the Southern Pacific Railroad C~mp~any~s Right of Way, between Main Street and
<br />Chapman Avenue in the City of Santa Ana. together with the necessary parcels of land for slope
<br />easements, revetmentWork, and curves aG certain street intersections~ as hereinafter part-
<br />icularly described, s~id street to be known as and called "Santa Aha Boulevard"~ the extendin~
<br />of Broadway from. the present Northerly l~mits.of sald street across the Southern Pacific Rail-
<br />road.Company's Right of Way, and'connecting wzth the proposed Santa Aha Boulevard, togethe~
<br />with the necessary land for the curve at the intersection of said Broadway with Santa Ana
<br />Boulevard; the widening of Flower Street between Santa Clara Avenue a~d Santa Ana Boulevard,
<br />to make said street a uniform width of eighty (80) feet, together with the necessary parcels
<br />of land for curves at certain street intersections as hereinafter particularly described.

<br /> That the property necessary to be taken for such opening of Sanga Ana Boulevard
<br />described above includes all those parcels of land sibuated in the City of San~a Aha, County
<br />of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> PARCEL NO. l. All of that certain parcel~of land situated in the Rancho
<br />Santiago de Santa Aha, City of Santa Ana, County o£ Orange, State of Ca~if~rnia~
<br />and described as follows: Beginning at the Southwesterly corner of the Tract
<br />of 17.60 acres conveyed to J. E. Parker by deed recorded in Book 138, Page 182
<br />of Deeds, Records of Orange County~ California, said point being South 40° 32~
<br />EaSt 104.30 feet from the intersection of the center line of Chapman Avenue
<br />extended ~ith the Northeasterly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific
<br />Railroad; and ~unning thence from said point of beginning N~rth 49° 28~ East
<br />along the Northwesterly line of said 17.60 acre tract 74.70 feet to an intersect-
<br />ion with the Southerly line of the 60 foot right of way of said Chapman Avenue;
<br />thence Westerly along said Southerly line 98.78 feet to an intersection with the
<br />said Northeasterly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad;
<br />thence South 400 G2~ East along said Northeasterly line 64.63 feet to the point
<br />of beginning.

<br /> PEECEL NO. 2. A parcel of land in the City of S~u~a Ana, California, being
<br />a portion of that certain parcel of land situated in the Rancho Santiago de
<br />Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, and described as follows:
<br />Beginning at the Southwesterly corner of the tract of 17.60 acres conveyed to
<br />J.E.Parker by deed recorded in Book 13S, Page 182 of Deeds, Records ~of Orange
<br />County, California; said Southwesterly corner being North 40° G2~ ~est 1395.20
<br />feet from the Northeast corner of the old wagon bridge across the Santa Aha
<br />.~iver, and being also South 40° 32' East 104.30 feet from the intersection of the
<br />center li~e of Chapman Avenue extended with the Northeasterly line of the right
<br />of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad; running thence North 49~° East along the
<br />Northwesterly line of said 17.60 acre tract 120.60 feet, more or less, to its
<br />intersection with the center line of Chapman Avenue; thence East along the center
<br />line of Chapman Avenue 134.20 feet to a point; thence South'0o 02~ 30~ West 339.43
<br />feet, more or less, to a point in the Northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific
<br />Railroad right of way; thence North 40o 32' ~est 344.49 feet, more or less, along
<br />said right of way tb the point of beginning, the portion of the above described
<br />parcel of land to be acquired is more particularly described as follows:
<br />Beginning at the most Southerly corner of the hereinbefore d~scribed land; thence
<br />Northwesterly along the Northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad
<br />Company,s right of way 344.49 feet to a point; thence Northeasterly along a line
<br />described in the abov~ description as being North 49~° East along the Northwesterly
<br />line of said 17.60 acre Tract 120.60 fevt~ more or less~ to an intersection with the
<br />center line of Chapman Avenue; thence Easterly along the center line of Chapman
<br />Avenue 28.95 feet to a point; thence Southwesterly at right angles to the said
<br />center line of Chapman Avenue a distance of 40 feet; thence Southwesterly along a
<br />curve tangent to a line 40 feet Southerly, measured at right angles from and parallel
<br />to the said center line of Chapman Avenue with a radius of 28.79 feet through an
<br />angle of 130° 54~ a distance of 6~.77 feet to a point; said last mentioned point
<br />being distant 70 feet Northeasterly from and measured at right angles to the
<br />Northeasterly line.of the Southern Pacific Railr~a~ Company's right of way; thence
<br />Southeasterly along a line drawn parallel to and 70 feet Northeasterly from the
<br />said Northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific~Railroad Company's Right of Way to
<br />an intersection with the Easterly line of the immediately above described parcel
<br />of land; thence Southerly along the said last mentioned line'to the point of
<br />beginning, excepting therefrom that portion now occupied by the said Chapman
<br />Avenue.

<br /> PARCEL NO. 3. A parcel of land in the City of Santa Aha, being a portion
<br />of that'ce~'t'ain parcel of land situated in the RanchoSantiago de Santa Aha, County
<br />of 0range~ State of California and described as follows: Beginning at a point on
<br />the Northeasterly line of the ri~ht of~w~y of the Southern Pacific Railroad a
<br />distance of 344.49 feet Sbuth 40~32' East from the Northwesterly line of a tract
<br />of 17.60 acres, more or less, ~escribed in Parcel 4 in the Deed, recorded in Book
<br />217~ page 63 of Deeds, Records of Orange County, California; thence South 40° ~
<br />East along t~e Northeasterly line of said Right of Way 473.36 feet; thence South
<br />89° 34' 30" East 47~.13 feet; thence North 0o 2~ 30" East 104.47 feet; thence
<br />North 13o 10~ 30" West 327.~4 feet; thence No~th OO 30~30'' East 119.~9 feet; thence
