RESOLUTION NO. 2106 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a special election was held in that terrlto~y known as "West Chapman <br /> <br />Addition" on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1929, pursuant to the provisions of an Act <br /> <br />of the Legislature of June 11, 1913, relating to the annexation of territory to <br /> <br />municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913, Page 587, as subsequently amended, <br /> <br />at which election there was submitted the question of whether said new territory herein- <br /> <br />after described ~hould be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of <br /> <br />Santa Ara; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, notice of said election was given by publication, in the time, form <br /> <br />and manner as required by said act, as appears from the affidavit of Orange Daily News, <br /> <br />on file with the City Clerk; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was duly held in accordance wit] <br /> <br />law and said notice on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1929, and that the polls for said <br /> <br />election were kept open during the time required by law, to-wit, from six o'clock A.M. <br /> <br />to seven o'clock P.M. of said day, and that said special election was held and conducted <br /> <br />and the votes thereof received and canvassed and the result thereof determined and <br /> <br />declared, in the time, form and manner required by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on Monday, the 18th day <br /> <br />of July, 1929, being the time provided for its regular meeting next after the e~piration <br /> <br />of three (3) days from and after the date of said election, meet and proceed to canvass <br /> <br />the returns of said special election as required by law. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, the result of said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter <br /> <br />stated, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha do resolve as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Santa Ara <br /> <br />as aforesaid is particularly described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and <br />particularly described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the intersection of a line drawn parallel to <br />and distant 170 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly line of the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way with a line drawn <br />parallel to and distant 50 feet Southerly from the center line of <br />Chapman Avenue as it exists Easterly from the Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company's right-of-way said point of beginning being also a point on <br />the boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, California; thence Easterly <br />along said line drawn parallel to and distant 50 feet Southerly from <br />the center line of said Chapman Avenue to an intersection with a line <br />drawn parallel to and distant 16 feet Westerly from the Easterly line <br />of Lot V of the Lockhart Tract as per map thereof on file in Book 4, <br />Page 813, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; <br />thence Southerly along said llne drawn parallel to and distant 15 feet <br />Westerly from the Easterly line of Lot 7 of said Lockhart Tract to an <br />intersection with the Northerly line of lands conveyed to Lillian E. <br />Feldner by deed recorded in Book 643, Page 90, Records of Orange County, <br />California, said li~m being also a portion of the Northerly boundary <br />line of the City of Orange, California; thence Westerly along said last <br />described line to the Northwesterly corner of said Lillian E. Feldner,s <br />land; thence Souther 4° 30' West 217.78 feet to the Southwesterly corner <br />of said lands; thence South 5° 02' East, 25V.60 feet to a point; thence <br />North 89° 52t West 65.00 feet to a point; thence South 2° 22' East 427.68 <br />feet to a point; thence South 18o 05' West to an intersection with a line <br />drawn parallel to and distant 170 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly <br />line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way, said line <br />being also a portion of the Boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, <br />California; thence Northwesterly along said last described line to the <br />point of beginning. <br /> <br />2. That there was but one election precinct established and provided for the <br /> <br />holding of said special election, the boundaries of which were the boundaries of said <br /> <br />territory. <br /> <br />3.
