S <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2864 <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, when the ue~ployment situation resulting from the present <br />depression became acute among the citizens of this City, the Board of Trustees of <br />the City of Santa Ama appointed a voluntary citizens unemployment committee, with <br />Mr. J. S. Smart as chairman, and other leading citizens of the community as <br />members of his committee, W.D. Raney, Hugh Gerrard, Dr. George A. Warmer and <br />Wm. H. Spurgeon; that Chairman J. S. Smart and his~co~nittee took charge of the <br />situation, procured contributions Of money and food stuffs from the citizens and <br />merchants of our CitF, provided employment for the unemployed, and so successfully <br />handled the unemployment situation in our community that our City as a <br />municipality has been called upon for practically nothing to meet the unemployment <br />situation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper that the Board of Trustees of the <br />City of Santa Aha take recognition of the very valuable services rendere~by <br />J. S. Smart and the members of his committee along the lines set forth above: <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the sense of City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ama that a deep appreciation be extended to J. S. Smart and his <br />committee for the invaluable services rendered this City by them. <br /> <br /> I ~MEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly ~]~d regularly <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Ama at a regular adjourned meeting <br />thereof, held on the 51st day of July, 1933, by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />AYES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />NOES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />ABSENT, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />A.F.LeGaye, E.G.Warner, W.H.penn, A.C.HasenJaeger, <br />Paul B.
