RESOLUTION NO. 2588 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ENGAGING CERTAIN SPECIAL SERVICES <br />OF THE'LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA ~JNICIPALITIES AND <br />PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT THEREFOR. <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby resolve as <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the public interest, necessity and convenience, requires that <br /> certain services, hereinafter enumerated, be performed for and on behalf of the <br /> City of Santa Aha, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of said City the LEAGUE OF <br /> CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES, a corporation, is best qualified to perform such <br /> services, <br /> <br /> NOW THEHEFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> That the services of maid LEAGI~E O~ CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES, A <br /> CORPORATION, be secured for the performance of the following services for and on <br /> behalf of said City: <br /> <br /> (1) The compilation of data, and the preparation of material, for <br /> presentation to The President of the United States and The Congress of the United <br /> States, in support of an Application of said City for a public works program <br /> instead of a direct relief program which, in the opinion of said City Council, is <br /> necessary in dealing with the serious unemployment problem in this City, and that <br /> the amount made available for materials in such a program for projects in said <br /> City be sufficient to permit economically sound and socially desirable projects <br /> to be undertaken. <br /> <br /> (2) The preparation of a further study of State Gasoline Tax allocation <br /> to said City, and the compilation of material for presentation to the Legislature <br /> of the State of California in support of a program for an allocation of a greater <br /> percentage of Gas Tax Funds to the City to be used for the construction, recon& <br /> struction and maintenance of City streets without any restrictions or limitations <br /> on the use thereof, other than the general use heretofore specified. <br /> <br /> (3) The maintenance of a Legislative Bureau at the State Capitol during <br /> the 1955 sessions of said Legislature for the preparation and forwarding of <br /> periodical bulletins and reports to said City on the status of legislation affect- <br /> lng said City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> That the payment of the sum of $90.00 to said LEAGUE OF CALIFOHNIA <br />MUNICIPALITIES, A CORP~RATION, as compensation for such services, be and the same <br />is hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and from <br />thenceforth the same shall be in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> I HERE~Y CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution w~s duly and regularly <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, at a regular meeting thereof <br />held on the 4th day of June, 1954. <br /> <br />AYES, TRUSTEES: A.F.LeGaye, <br /> <br />NOES, TRUSTEES: None <br /> <br />ABSENT, TRUSTEES: W.H.Penn <br /> <br />E.G.Warner, A.C.HasenJaeger, Paul B.
