RESOLUTION NO. 59-252 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE <br />AiYNEXATION OF TE--~Y TO THE CITY CF SANTA ANA, DESIG- <br />NATti~G "TUSTIN AND SEVENTEENTH N. E. ANNEX" AS AN APPRO- <br />PRIATE NAME AND GIVIi~G NOTICE OF TIME A~) PLACE OF HEARING <br />PROTESTS THERETO <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory <br />hereinbelow described, a map and description were presented and were <br />approved by the Santa Aha Planning Co_uzmission and the Boundary Com- <br />mission of Orange County, California; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~SOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for the mnexation of <br />the real property described herein to said City for the following <br />reasons: <br /> <br /> · 1. That said area is rapidly developing with the constr~c- <br />tion of residenti~ and comEercial buildings and has a present ~d <br />increasing need and effective demand for sewerage facilities, con- <br />nections with trunk lines to dispose of the increasing sewage pro- <br />duced in the area. <br /> <br /> 2. That said area has a ~esent and increasing demand for <br />municipal services, and th~ property values in the area ~ould be <br />increased, stabilized and maintained by the availability of high- <br />grade municipal services. <br /> <br /> 3- That the area can best be served by the City of Santa <br />Aha with municipal services of the highest caliber anywhere obtain- <br />able, and that there is at this time no other government ageney or <br />city that can provide connections for the disposal of the rapidly <br />increasing volume of sewage produced in the area. <br /> <br /> 4. That said territory would receive the greatest economic <br />benefit by becoming a part of the City of Santa Ana, an established <br />and stable City~ that has consistently cut its City advalorem tax <br />rate during the critical eight-year period just passed, when prac- <br />tically all other agencies, districts and governmental units were <br />raising such tax rates. <br /> <br /> <br />
