RESOLUTION 64-51 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS <br />FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE <br />NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "FAIRHAVEN AND <br />GLASSELL S.E. ANNEX" AND GIVING NOTICE OF <br />PROTEST HEARING THEREON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the request of the property owners in the terri- <br />tory herein described, a description and map of said territory were <br />presented to the Santa Ana Planning C~ission, which approved <br />annexation of said territory; to the Orange County Boundary <br />Commission, which caused a report to be prepared finding that the <br />boundaries of said proposed annexation met with the approval of <br />the Orange County Surveyor's Office in respect to Goverrunent Code <br />Section 35002; and to the Local Agency Formation C~Lission of <br />Orange County, which approved the same. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation <br />of said territory to the City of Santa Ana for the following reasons: <br /> <br />That said territory can best be served by the City of <br />Santa Ana with municipal services~ the highest quality <br />anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services which is <br />lower than can be obtained anywhere else in the County <br />of Orange. <br /> <br />That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the <br />landowners that said territory become a part of said <br />City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares <br />its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described <br />under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act <br />of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited <br />within the meaning of the Government Code Section 35303 on the date <br />of the adoption of this Resolution~ that said territory is contig- <br />uous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State <br />of California, and is described as: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the East line of Glassell <br />Street, said East line being 40 feet Easterly, measured at <br />right angles from the center line of said Glassell Street, <br />with a line that is parallel with and 801.9 feet North, <br />measured at right angles from the center line of Santa Clara <br />Avenue as said Santa Clara Avenue is shown on a map of land <br />annexed to the City of Santa Ana on July 17, 1961, by <br />Ordinance No. NS-524, said point of beginning being an angle <br />point in said NS-524 boundary; thence East along said <br />parallel line and along said NS-524 boundary 315 feet, more <br />or less, to the West line of Lot 38 in the Santa Ana Grand <br />Avenue Tract as shown on a map recorded in Book 26, page 53, <br />Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; <br />thence North along the West line of said Lot 38 and its <br />Northerly extension 1,399.96 feet to a point on the South <br />line of Fairhaven Avenue, said South line being 30 feet <br />South, measured at right angles from the center line of said <br />Fairhaven Avenue; thence West along said South line 770 feet, <br />more or less, to a point in a line the Northerly terminus of <br />which is 84.5 feet West of the Southwest corner of Lot 13 <br />in Block "D" of the A. B. Chalanan Tract as surveyed by <br />Frank Lecouvreur in 1870; thence South along said last <br />mentioned line 250 feet to a line that is parallel with and <br />280 feet South, measured at right angles from the center <br /> <br /> <br />
