RESOLUTION NO. 3649 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TttE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT ~EDS ~HICH BEAR SEEDS OF <br />A WINGY OR DOWNY NATURE AND ATTAIN SUCH A LARGE GROWTH <br />AS TO BECOME A FIRE i.IENACE WHEN DRY, AND WHICH ARE NOXIOUS <br />AND DANGEROUS, ARE GROWING UPON CERTAIN STREET, SIDEWALKS, <br />AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND ARE <br />A PUBLIC NUISANCE: DIRECTING THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT <br /> TO POST NOTICES TO DESTROY SAID WEEDS AS REQUIRED BY LAW: <br />FIXING THE TIME FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS AND PROTESTS, AND <br />DIRECTING THE ABATEMENT THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN <br />ACT OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ENTITLED, <br />"AN ACT AUTHORIZING N~JNICIPALITIES TO DECLARE NOXIOUS OR <br />DANGEROUS WEEDS GRONING UPON THE STREETS OR ~DE~A~ <br />UPON PRIVATE PHOPERTY WITHIN ~NICIPALITIES TO BE A PUBLIC <br />NUISANCE, CREATING A LIEN UPON THE PROPERTY FRONTING UPON <br />SUCH STREETS OR SIDEWALKS, OR UPON WHICH SUCH NUISANCE <br />EXISTS FOR THE COST OF ABATING THE SA~gE, APPROVED i~Y <br />1915", AND AMENDMENTS THERETO. <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF Tt{E CITY OF SANTA &NA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION l: Pursuant to the provisions of An Act of the Legislature <br />of the State of California, entitled "An Act Authorizing Munici- <br />pall'ties to Declare Noxious or Dangerous Weeds Growing upon the <br />Streets or Sidewalks, or upon Private Property Within Municipalities <br />to be a Public Nuisance Creating~a Lien upon the Property fronting <br />upon such Streets or Sidewalks or upon which such Nuisance exists <br />for the Cost of Abating the same, Approved May ~6, 1915" and <br />amendments thereto, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana here- <br />by determines and declares that weeds which bear seeds of a wingy <br />or downy nature, or attain such a large growth as to become a fire <br />menace when dry and which are noxious and dangerous, are growing <br />upon certain streets, sidewalks and private property in said City, <br />and are hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and that the <br />names of such streets as they are commonly known are hereinafter <br />set forth and the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks, <br />or in front of which such nuisance exists are hereinafter particu- <br /> <br />larly described: <br /> <br /> <br />
